Saw some unconfirmed rumblings on Twitter from saying we're interested in St. Francis (PA) big man Joshua Nebo. Not sure how true it is.
2  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Athletic Department Topics / Re: Edward Kull Named Senior Director of Development/Senior Associate Athletic Dir. on: March 23, 2017, 01:45:19 pm

My guess is he's replacing the Marketing guy who left in December. Seems to have a Marketing background. Maybe he can find someone to replace Frank on the floor.

Also per The team's Twitter, we've offered Trilion Coles, son of former Jets receiver Laveranues Coles.

Let's all pool $2.5 million together and the winner gets to donate the money to have the new Basketball court named after him instead of Frank.

I am pretty sure he is referring to Jeromy Rodriguez
Got my Northwest and Southwest mixed up!
9  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Moving forward 2017-18 on: March 10, 2017, 11:18:05 am
The double double threat is the current Conference player of the year with the Northwest Florida State JUCO Raiders.
Nych Smith wanted more playing time and to play Point Guard. Was bummed he transferred out, but if I didn't pass Northwest Florida State a couple days ago, I wouldn't have known he was even gone this year.

Mike Watts saying on twitter we could be down 2 starters.

Not good

No Chartouny on the court for warm-ups nor is his name posted on the scoreboard with the lineups

We offered Myles the monster Johnson 6-9 245 lb big from Cali
https://youtu.be/C1YFqqD6po8
Known for good hands, passing and can shoot a bit. Had a 5 block game and used to break press at mid court. Coming off a knee injury only seems to have an offer from Yale. Oh yeah he has 4.0 gpa. Needs to improve conditioning.
Let's get him! Has all offseason to work out.
12  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Fordham @ Rhode Island - Wednesday 2/15, 7pm Pre-Game/In-Game Thread on: February 14, 2017, 09:49:12 am
The loss of Slanina makes it more likely we go 1-5 as opposed to 5-1.  Getting 2 would be fine anything more would be a surprise to me.   Just not enough bodies.
He's done for the year?

Good to see the Fordham Athletics Facebook page posted about the countdown to baseball and the New York Liberty basketball clinic.  Maybe they will get around to promoting Wednesdays game some time tomorrow night.  What a joke.
Looks like the Donnelly guy left Fordham in December. The job posting listed online had a start date of 1/3. Today's the 6th of February.

Incredible win.

Bunting was unreal. Never saw that coming. Great job Jesse!
A real grinder effort. Would be huge if he can be that kind of player off the bench moving forward.
16  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: RHG renovations on: February 03, 2017, 05:00:06 pm
Only at Fordham do the only people who benefitted from Frank's tenure as AD by getting free tuition, his family, have the nerve to come on here and ask the very people who paid his salary and for his family's tuition to pony up money to put his name on the court.  If you want his name on the court you pay for it.
It's like asking your neighbor to build a wall and have them front the costs. Wink

Looks like Ben Maffe spurned us for Richmond according to his Twitter. May explain the late additions.

Walked in at 15:35 when the score was 8-6 is. We scored 15 points the rest of the half. Game was just about decided then.

That's what I call a win. No JC or PS and still get the victory.  Chuba sealing it the tip on the inbound. Let's keep this going

22  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Fordham - VCU 1/18, 7:00pm: PreGame/In-Game on: January 19, 2017, 09:59:08 am
To follow up on the SNY broadcast…I thought it was lacking a bit.

- Would have liked another look on the Hawkins backcourt call (certainly looked to me like it got knocked away). Maybe they didn't have another camera, but at least maybe a slo-mo on the one angle they did have.
- Another replay on that post-basket foul would have been nice as well.
- Now, they did show another angle on the Sengfelder foul near the end of regulation after we got possession. But even then, with contact like that, no discussion on whether it was a good call or not. I'm biased of course, but I'd let that go myself.

But at least I was able to watch, so I guess I can't be too critical.
It was the VCU broadcast.
23  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Will We we win another Game? on: January 12, 2017, 11:45:13 am
Win one of the next two, then we'll see. Lose the next two, nothing changes.
24  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Are we in free fall? on: January 11, 2017, 10:33:16 am
Maybe.  Maybe not.  As Ace has pointed out, will the BoT have the stomach for another buy out?  Of course there will also be those who will lobby that he "deserves" another year because we have players who are developing.  If we can't win more than 2-3 games, I'd have the meeting the day after the last game.  he has little chance to recruit going into his 3rd year coming of a season like this.  It should be over, IMO.  And let's not start with, "let's see how the season plays out."  Whatever they're going to do, i hope there is planning going on now.  I'd vote to fire him.  If not, the entire staff goes...
Isn't there a better chance JN leaves on his own and get another job in a smaller conference to save face for his own being? For someone that looks as miserable as he does, wouldn't he just move on? It's clear he's disinterested here, if takes another gig, then we don't have to worry about buying out his contract.

This team looked they didn't care to be out there at all. And with their coach looking the same way, why should they care? JN has packed it in. As I said after the Duquesne game, he looks miserable having to be out there. No fire, no passion, no animation. He wasn't even yelling out the plays. Embarrassing.

Who are the other two openings Thamel mentions?

Pete Thamel ‏@SIPeteThamel  2h2 hours ago
Source: Fordham DC Jon Wholley leaves for UConn. Fordham DL coach Jerrick Hall leaves for Elon. Andrew Breiner has 4 defensive openings.

Is EWU homecoming?
Believe Homecoming is 11/4. Very late.
29  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Duquesne @ Fordham - Official Game Thread - A10 Conference Opener! on: December 30, 2016, 11:27:28 pm
I only watched the stream, but he looked rather animated on a few calls and the announcers even pointed it out a few times.
Maybe on a few, but he looked zoned out in person. Our guys were getting hacked and pushed around, and he just stared at the court.
30  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Duquesne @ Fordham - Official Game Thread - A10 Conference Opener! on: December 30, 2016, 10:54:56 pm
Fair enough, I just need a lot more from JN. It's not even close to good enough, F across the board.

Up by 1, if I saw JN digging in on the sideline, emphatically calling TO, drawing up a play, getting emotionally amped, I would ease up. But I don't see that. I see lost eyes, and the "mess" I was alluding to. GET EMOTIONAL ABOUT WINNING, NOW.

JN looked like he'd rather be anywhere but in the RHG. He was looking at the clock as if he were waiting for it to run out. There were some iffy officiating calls that could have either been a foul or shouldn't have been a foul, but he was silent. No pushback towards the refs at all, even if to get a Technical called and fire the team up. Noticed this specifically on the play where a Duquesne player extended his arm out and pushed one of our defenders down. There was no response from the bench at all. I'm a JN supporter, but I think he has checked out mentally.
