PSU on the road at Iowa Saturday night. Both undefeated early in the season. Should be a spectacle.

I think Penn State wins BIIIIIG

This is a national championship caliber team in my opinion

Its also fantastic to see former asst coach Will Reimann on the sidelines with Moorhead - will is a great guy
2  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: Fordham @ Bryant on: September 20, 2017, 05:16:42 pm
I think the obvious answer here is that at the time moorehead was more KING than coach and he said "ok hire my guy - he is the chosen one" and literally the entire Fordham Athletic department took his word as gospel (not saying they shouldn't)

I have faith for breiner - it's tough out there

I think most of us want AB to succeed. Some of us are out for blood.

+1

When we win its not by enough and when we lose it's time to whip out the pitchforks and torches...

most teams from outside the PL have a big advantage over PL teams because most leagues allow their teams to red-shirt players.  I think that leads to a big disparity on the lines which is something that we've seen in several of our playoff games over the years. IMHO, it will be the decisive edge for EWU.

I feel like the size from red shirt thing is a little overstated. The schools that have red-shirts (not patriot or ivies) have red-shirts because their schools place more of an emphasis on athletics. Because they place more of an emphasis on athletics, different types of athletes go there.

For example,  the huge lineman at Tennessee Chattanooga are huge because they are the types of O lineman that go there and not the types that go to schools like Fordham.

The Eagles donít have a single senior on the O-line, but the learning curve has flattened considerably since last year. ďItís the ideal situation,Ē Butorac said.

Breiner is 9-4 in his head coaching career.  Two of those losses are to FBS teams.  He obviously must be fired.

^^^ thank you

14  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: Fordham @ CCSU on: September 11, 2017, 10:42:46 am

Anderson is a stud.  A player and a half.  No Chase, no problem.  Never, ever say he needs to be pushed.  Dumbest comment in Fordhamfans.com history.

You guys really didn't like that one huh

I never suggested Anderson would ever be "pushed" out of the starting line up. Cmon!

All I was suggesting was that having another D1A transfer would be a good thing to have around to help improve the overall quality of the group (thinking meetings, drills, etc). That's all. How could their possibly be a problem or issue with that?
15  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: Army game on: September 07, 2017, 09:43:17 am
I am not a "get under center, run a power play" guy. I am just wondering what the hell is going on pre-snap when the QB steps back and looks to the sideline. What's happening there?

few options i think:

Its a hard count/there is no play called. then based on defensive formation breiner will call a play he thinks will work.

Anderson see's how they are lined up and decides it wont work. he looks to the sideline for what breiner wants to do.

So missing a pick is not a loss?

agree...what the heck is this?

right now i'm batting .833 - if i sit out the rest of the season i win right?

21  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: regarding the future of QBs. 3 stars Indiana transfer on: August 30, 2017, 11:28:02 am
you also gotta imagine he's gonna push the hell out of anderson in rpactice as well - obviously i'd be shocked if anyone but than anderson was out there - but this kid will bring instant value to our team as another reason for anderson to go 100000% in

this is massive - the formula of transfer qb's is the way to go

go rams!

I think i misunderstood what you meant by scholarship players - i agree that they would certianly play at Fordham/Ivies but i was thinking you meant 1A players. My bad!

I do think we match up pretty well talent wise though.
24  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: Army game on: August 25, 2017, 10:42:08 am
Virtually all service academy football players would be scholarship level players somewhere, so I think it's legitimate to say they have at least 85 scholarship players.

No they aren't - I mean they obviously have some really good players but I'm gonna respectfully disagree here and say that their best guys are kids that are in the bottom half of the total talent pool of schollie guys nationwide - with many of the other players not really having a chance to play outside of and army level tier of football.

27  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: EWU SIZING UP OPPONENTS on: August 15, 2017, 09:03:58 am
Interestingly enough, one of my customers is an EWU grad and I asked if he followed their football team. Turns out he is a season ticket holder and actually said "that RB you guys have is a STUD and we can sometimes struggle against elite RBs" which was awesome.....but at the same time i couldnt help but think that it would be unlikely (at least less likely than my situation) that anyone who graduated from EWU was working with an FU grad that they would care at all about our team (save of course for you guys).

Another possibly self evident thought is that this could totally be a trap game for EWU - coming off a 1AA game, ND State, and looking forward to a game against always good Montana. Puts us in a good spot.

Hopefully our Athletic department does everything in their power to pack the house and give us as much of a home-field advantage as possible.

28  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: 2017 Rankings on: August 10, 2017, 03:29:58 pm
If we can beat EWU it would have a similar effect as the Nova game in Nebrich's first year at QB.

The Temple game was an unbelievably cool upset win, but that was a bad team.

It was the Nova home win in crazy fashion that set that team down a path of righteousness and in my opinion gave us a lot more FCS respect.
29  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: 2017 Predictions on: August 01, 2017, 11:07:46 am
9-2

I think that we should get a +5 bonus if if the prediction in this thread is accurate when we run the patriot league pick em pool.

Thoughts?
30  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: Chase Cracks Top-10 CFB RBs To Watch List-NFL.com on: July 17, 2017, 10:17:03 am
As a New Englander since 1989 I concur, but as a Giants fan since the days of Joe Morrison, Jim Katcavage, and Spider Lockhart, (i always longed for the mullet of Pete Athas) I must disagree.  Let Chase reign with the Giants as they defeat the 18-0 Pats in Super Bowl LIII to establish the second  "Perfect Ending"  after the Pats walk through this season,  "I can dreaM can't I?"   Oh and BTW Rams over Army, Rams over EWU, Rams over Lehigh and Rams over NDSU in FRISCO!"  Don't wake me up!

As an Eagles fan i am super torn because I hate the giants...that being said I live in Boston now, am surrounded by Patriots fans and Brady worshippers.

....two of which are my coworkers who are....gulp....ASSUMPTION GRADS. We actually played each other too. Makes me want to puke sometimes...

You know what - this is a great story line. I can get behind this dream too. Chase over Brady would be tremendous.
