Thanks. Clearly not something a coach would do if he is in fear for his job.

Maybe, or he could just be trying to show that he is not losing the team

Could be a lot things, none of them good
2  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: Fordham @ Colgate on: October 14, 2017, 12:26:17 pm
No Anderson today

Who is playing QB, the transfer from Indiana?
3  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: NYCFC, the Bronx, and Fordham on: October 14, 2017, 11:52:09 am
The search for a place to build a stadium for NYCFC has been going on for years and actually started before the franchise was granted

Last I remember about the site near Yankee stadium was that a business owner refused to sell his property on the footprint and the team decided to move on, maybe that has changed or a different property is being considered

There were published reports that after the Cosmos bid for a stadium at Belmont was rejected both the team and supposedly the Islanders, were interested in the site

Regarding our FB team playing at a NYCFC stadium in the Bronx or wherever it might be built, I cannot imagine that we would be able to sell anywhere near enough tickets to run a full home schedule there, maybe for special events like the HC game at Yankee stadium but that is maybe a once a year type event that requires a unique angle

How would it help FB to play in front of the same size 4.5K crowd in a near empty 25K stadium that costs us a fortune to rent?
4  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: FACTS and REALITY on: October 01, 2017, 05:34:16 pm
Whatever happens, we need a complete revamp of the defense, from players to coaching philosophy and we have needed that for several years

The bad play of this unit did not start this season, it has been going on for a while
5  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: Should Coach Breiner be on the "Hot Seat" on: September 30, 2017, 07:03:19 pm
This is a historically bad Fordham defense
6  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Nick Honor PG 2018 Commits on: September 30, 2017, 01:22:48 pm
Looks like a terrific recruit, no fear, can hit the 3 and drive to the hoop, nice handle and seems physically ready for the college game

Welcome to Fordham and I hope you have a great career on Rose Hill
7  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Recruiting Update on: September 30, 2017, 11:35:11 am
Well, I've posted pretty regularly for over a decade. And I'm pretty excited that we've signed Honor. And I've not a clue as to how the coming year will go, but I'm hopeful. Unlike previous coaching staffs, this one does give the players what they need to compete successfully, in terms of strategy, skills coaching, etc.  I remember the first Neubauer-coached game I attended, and saying "Whoa! This is different!".  That being said, the facilities are wanting. Not gonna stop with that until I'm sitting in a new arena, in a seat with my name on the back of it.

Uhh, better rethink that, if you are sitting in a seat that says John on the back you might be in the bathroom Cheesy

The live stream of the game is very good, hope the Rams are too
9  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: Fordham @ CCSU on: September 09, 2017, 03:26:45 pm
Two games into the season, 1-1, many warning signs but we did come back to win the game

Very tough game against EWU next week
10  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: Fordham @ CCSU on: September 09, 2017, 02:48:48 pm
Thanks

Frustrating, Thought we would be ready for this game
11  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: Fordham @ CCSU on: September 09, 2017, 02:43:19 pm
What is the score?
12  The Fordham Forums / All Other Fordham Rams' Sports / Re: Men's Soccer Beats St. Johns on: September 03, 2017, 02:30:00 pm
This is a terrific win and a bright spot for the weekend

St. John's has been a premier soccer program for over a decade and beating them on the road is a terrific win for the Rams

Congratulations to the team and coaches
13  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: Army game on: September 02, 2017, 02:55:50 pm
I was very nervous about this game but I never expected the disaster we saw last night

We were outclassed by a good team but being unprepared is a terrible way to start a season

I had hopes for the Defense with the new DC onboard but now I really hope that we are not in for more of what we saw last season

We need a win next week to head into the EWU game with confidence

14  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Starting Line Up '17-18' on: August 28, 2017, 12:05:25 pm
Raut is now on the roster.

Gazi (DePaul transfer) is also on the roster
15  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Why the RHG is to be Named for McGlaughlin on: August 23, 2017, 12:28:20 pm
When I think of Frank what comes to mind is a guy happy to patch the holes in the Athletic Department with duct tape and when that ran out he was then happy to use scotch tape, all to please his bosses and to keep his gravy train running. Every so often he would stick head up and push back a bit but then he was equally happy when they threw him a new case of that duct tape

Roach came in and immediately asked what the hell was going on and pushed for real resources, we have seen the success he has had and as 85 noted, wonder what could have been if Frank was as committed
16  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Why the RHG is to be Named for McGlaughlin on: August 22, 2017, 03:25:50 pm
Exactly

The FOF want to honor their friend, there is no hard data as to how his accomplishments benefited Fordham they can use (for the most part his tenure veered from disaster to mediocre) so they go to the soft benefits of "he didn't have the resources, he did the best he could and he loves Fordham, so let's honor our friend and his family"

Complete nonsense and not worthy of acknowledgement by Fordham
17  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Why the RHG is to be Named for McGlaughlin on: August 17, 2017, 10:08:30 am
Fortunately you don't get to determine the qualifications of a true fan.  How many endorsements has your family established for Fordham?  Want to compare?  I back my fan status with multiple checks.

Fortunately you don't get to determine the qualifications of a true fan either, especially since you don't even understand the difference between a fan and a donor

Maybe you give a lot of money, maybe you give more than me, if you do bravo

Don't expect me to be impressed or to take direction from someone bragging on an anonymous internet board

You might think your money is well spent on honoring Frank's family, I don't share your opinion
18  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Why the RHG is to be Named for McGlaughlin on: August 16, 2017, 05:04:07 pm
Very happy that it is being named for an alumnus who actually graduated Fordham, unlike the "stepping stone loser" variety.

Besides the McLaughlin and his family you might be the only person happy to see this

True fans of Fordham are not happy
19  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: EWU SIZING UP OPPONENTS on: August 14, 2017, 03:59:11 pm
As someone on this board used to say,"my sediments exactly "

I hope I don't regret this or encourage anyone but "my sediments exggactly "
20  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: San Jose State to hire Jean Prioleau as head coach on: August 14, 2017, 10:24:34 am
I know, you didnt light the fire, it started above you in the thread.  The usual take cheap shots at Fordham for no good reason started shortly after the very positive news story about a very popular ex Ram. Unreal.

Exactly, we can be happy for Jean, who worked long and hard to become a head coach, without comparing any of it to Fordham or being critical of our program
21  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: San Jose State to hire Jean Prioleau as head coach on: August 05, 2017, 09:31:44 am
Good luck to Jean!

Very happy for him and well deserved
22  The Fordham Forums / All Other Fordham Rams' Sports / Re: WBB Taking European Tour on: August 02, 2017, 11:16:07 am
This will be a great experience for the players, terrific team bonding and hopefully will give Coach a jump start on preparations for the season
23  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Softball / Re: Softball Loses Three Players on: July 27, 2017, 04:11:32 pm
Curious about why Hughes transferred, the Big 10 is a strong conference but Rutgers is not a good program
24  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Recruiting Update on: July 17, 2017, 12:44:41 pm
This is the new reality of college BB and recruiting, I like the idea of bringing International players to the most international of cities.  I do think we need to find a balance between domestic, foreign and NYC area players but I do think that will be fluid

Most important thing is to get the level of player that can succeed in the A10
25  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Ivan Raut signs with Fordham on: July 12, 2017, 11:10:07 am
Welcome to Fordham Ivan

I look forward to learning more about your abilities and hope that you have a great career at Fordham
26  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Players I think we should look into. The Recruiting Speculation Game on: July 10, 2017, 02:33:42 pm
I read the story and found the way the coach went about it to be very strange

Was there some underlying reason not to renew a scholarship for the only returning player, at this late date?

Unless the coach found a four star players under a rock it does not seem to benefit the team or the player

It is not fair, but he does indeed have to sit. He should appeal to the NCAA if for no other reason than to make a point.

He should absolutely appeal, the player did not choose to leave, he is being forced, he should have the right to play immediately but what does the NCAA care about doing the right thing
27  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: DePaul transfer Erten Gazi has committed to Fordham, per a source. on: June 28, 2017, 10:31:43 am
Give JN a blow for the first year recruiting. But -- here's the concern -- the past two seasons, we've extended dozens of offers to domestic HS and prep players, and received a single acceptance (Ohams).

Yes, it is a concern

But, every school at our level and even some larger schools, extend dozens of offers, it is the nature of the process, but certainly most wind up up closing more of the deals that we have

I will say though that I understand JN's preference to be transfers and JUCO's and not as many HS players,  based on his track record at his previous school and he has signed those kind of players
28  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: DePaul transfer Erten Gazi has committed to Fordham, per a source. on: June 26, 2017, 05:45:52 pm
Does he sit out a year?

I would expect so and that he would have two years left to play

If that is the case then we would have a maximum of 11 players (the 10 currently on the roster plus one more to come) eligible next year plus the two transfers sitting out next year
29  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Softball / Re: Softball Assistant Coach Leaving on: June 22, 2017, 07:17:04 pm
Scott, most immediately would be 2, for next year's seniors, Shaw (IF and power hitter) and Figueroa (OF and slapper).  Yes, scholarship or partial.  Softball gets to split scholarships up.  I think unless one goes through coaches, the player has to initiate contact with the coach prior to the end of their Junior year.  One often sees the best Texas players verbally committing as Sophomores.  Makes it tough for Bridget unless she sees them in one of the 3 tournaments she goes to in the summer.

Odd coincidence in coaching announcements.  Former Ram Kayla Lombardo just announced she's going to be an assistant at Lehigh, then, within days, Reese Mariconda announces she's going to GT.  Wonder if Lombardo was considered for Mariconda's job.  Both were infielders.  Would love to steal Jen Mineau from St. Joe's as pitching coach and move Gabby Leuty over to the other assistant.

That sounds like a great idea, both could work from their strengths.  It would also be great if Jen could find a pitcher or two at her talent level Wink
30  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Sailing / Re: RAMS FINISH HUGE AT COED DINGHY NATIONAL SAILING CHAMPIONSHIP on: June 03, 2017, 12:48:35 pm
Joe,

Congratulations to the team, the coaches and you.

I recall you mentioning many times that when you and your former teammates restarted the team that you had a 10-15 year plan.  I am going to say that even you could not have imagined how successful your efforts would be and that I think you exceeded the heights you were striving for.

Sailing has become one of Fordham's most successful programs and we are proud of you and the team
