I agree. Last night they were horrible.  But it’s first game we’ve seen Neubauer get this team going after bad losses. If it continues could see lineup of

Evans
Chartouny
Hicks
Tavares
Raut

Bombs away

I like that lineup. I find it hard to believe that lineup could be outrebounded any worse than last night.

Havsa looked lost on both ends of the floor in his limited minutes

Yes. He would pound the ball aimlessly and then give it up.

Projectile vomit, just disgusting. Enjoy the 26 degree walk to your car from RHG.

Yes, Peter, it was frigid.

That was an awful basketball team I watched tonight. Probably two awful teams.

Can't shoot (even FTs), horrible interior defense, will get annihilated on the boards.

And Neubauer was badly outcoached.
6  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Fordham vs. Miami (OH) Pre-Game/Game Thread 11/10/17 at RHG on: November 10, 2017, 11:57:01 am
Evans Tavares and Ohams will start with Chartouny. Question is does Slanina start or Raut.  I think Raut starts. No update on Bunting in the game notes.

I agree. Probably a good move by JN to let Slanina sit and observe the flow of action for six or seven minutes and avoid a touch foul or two.

Evans really impressed- poised, confident, good handle, shoots it.

Grasso,  according to fordhamballer😜

Just for the record- it was Fordahmballer.  Grin

Its an odd dynamic but its been this way for quite some time.

JB, any info on Thornton ?

Thornton Scott, from Glen Cove, now listed as a 6'5" guard. Offers from William & Mary, American, Elon, Manhattan, Iona, Kent State, FDU, Loyola (Ma.), Quinnipiac, Bryant, UMBC.

He would be an excellent fall signing for us before he catches the attention of bigger programs on an outstanding VA team. Frankly, any guard from a New England Prep offered by Grasso is OK by me.

I cannot recall it ever happening either. It is a positive sign, but I think that after having been thrown a curveball by the Anderson and Sengfelder transfers, times they are a changing.

Yep

When's the last time we had more commits than scholarships to give?

Cannot recall that ever happening. I take that as a positive sign.

Omar Silverio, 6'3" 2G from St. Raymond's, has committed to Santa Clara. On 9/21 he announced that Santa Clara, UMass and Fordham were his final three schools.
16  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Scrimmage 10/29? on: October 24, 2017, 10:00:28 pm
So FIU is traveling 1400 miles to play a closed scrimmage in RHG?  Shocked
17  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Scrimmage 10/29? on: October 23, 2017, 09:57:27 pm
I was told that there is a scrimmage on 10/29. But the name I heard was FIU and that does not seem to make sense. Maybe my source was wrong? Does anyone have information?

Maybe it is FDU?  Undecided

R.J. Davis, a class of 2020 PG from Archbishop Stepinac (NY), has picked up an offer from Fordham.

Former Ram recruiting target Kris Wooten has committed to Elon. He is a PG and we offered him in July. He also had offers from BU and Penn. We got our primary PG target in Nick Honor.

I'll take either. Kupsas is a good player too.

Agreed. I would take either or both.
21  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Recruiting Update on: October 12, 2017, 07:52:17 am
Kupsas is more likely for us than Policelli.

Mike Rice & Michael Cooper

Michael Cooper was the toughest (most dirty) player I have ever seen in a Fordham uniform. I remember one time when the refs and all but Mike and the player he was guarding were running up court. Mike gave the guy a wicked elbow to the adams apple and the guy could not catch his breath for minutes. When the player and his coach complained, Mike gestured as if to say "who me?" He deserved an academy award. There were no cameras and the refs did nothing. Cooper was from Dewitt Clinton, as I recall. A prototypical Penders player- not overly talented but gave 100% and tough as nails.

Chris Austin, 6 4 SG from Maranatha High School in Pasadena, CA is on campus, meeting with admissions.

Thanks for the report. Please keep them coming.

Verbal Commits shows offers from Cal Poly and Long Beach State.

Congratulations to Nick Honor and our staff, especially Mike DePaoli, a really hard worker and a good guy.

This is an excellent signing for us. Those offers from UMass, Dayton and Memphis were recent and very real. I believe he strongly considered and visited JMU because they were on him very early.

Guard from Pa. or Tx.? Both?
28  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: Army game on: September 01, 2017, 11:45:43 pm
Worst performance I have ever seen by a Fordham team not coached by Tom Pecora.

85, at least you never saw a Hal Wissel coached team.  Shocked

I love the comment to the article from one of Pecora's buddies.  Grin

Adrien Nunez seems to be leaning to St. Joe's but that could change as he receives bigger offers. Here is what he said about Fordham after his visit.

“They outlined my role clearly. The facilities were great and it’s close to home in New York, which is great. There’s a lot of opportunity to play on that team.”
