Via Arturo in Roma?

The Boogie Down.

Since you posted the link with the news of the arrests and charges, I just want to add that from the handful of times I have eaten at Rigoletto's in the last year or two, it is obvious that if ICE were to raid the restaurant and check out the workers, they would find numerous illegal aliens working there. I am not taking a stand here on the issue of undocumented workers, but last August when I read about the arrest of the owner of Rigoletto's, it immediately crossed my mind that if the feds really wanted to bust his stones, they could have had ICE come in there and cause much much more trouble for the owner.

How was the food? I noticed a Greenwich online magazine did a nice writeup about Via Arturo.

"From loansharking and illegal gambling, to credit card and health care fraud, and even firearms trafficking, today’s mafia is fully diversified in its boundless search for illegal profits," Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said in a statement.

Unfortunately, this US attorney is being let go, despite being directly invited to stay on.

Let's avoid the politics. Others will proceed in his wake.

I think that certain alums feel that Frank was a good soldier and took the hits and criticism for the university's commitment (or lack thereof) over the years. I think they also feel that he was pushed out as AD, they thought this was unfair, and this group got together and decided to give him a thank you / parting gift.  I don't think Fr McShane cares a whit about any of this, the initiative or the reaction from others.

If they give him an Honorary Degree when he retires, I'm fairly certain I will never give another cent to Alma Mater.

Why would anyone give to Fordham if they are willing to honor mediocrity?

They are a refined dining establishment.

10  The Fordham Forums / All Other Fordham Rams' Sports / Re: Baseball Starts the Season in Houston on: March 06, 2017, 07:55:45 pm
A reminder.  Fordham has the most collegiate baseball wins of any team.  Almost 900 more than 2nd place Texas.

We need to send both Men and Women to the College World Series.

I bought the Fordham Sailing Tie, last year. Very Spiffy. Would make a good team fundraiser.

Dr. Zamboni needs to prescribe something.

I could be diet, a lot of things. A visit to the Sports medicine guys to get suggestions on legal & safe vitamins and supplements that enhance stamina. Lord knows what crap they are eating in the Cafeteria.

Most would have gotten it at GW -1.5/-2...or Fordham +1.5/2...

Crazy close game.

We petered out in the 2nd half.

Ash Wednesday, it would be nice if Campus ministries distributed ashes before the game.
Don't worry about the hot dogs that are severed by catering, there's no meat in them!

PS - a little off the topic. $15 to park is a rip off! If not mistaken, the bookstore closed at 2PM. On game day???

Plus they only have 1 parking booth open which causes a backup all the way to Southern Blvd.  Then they don't allow parking in lot A for some reason so you spend another 15 minutes going in circles in the garage and then it takes another 20 minutes to buy a ticket.  It's comical how inefficient this school is at everything.  It hasn't changed in 40 years.  It's beyond frustrating.

Fordham has never excelled at customer service.

Frig. Them.

Turned a corner, now lets get fans in the stands!

Well, looks like Virginia had a rough week.  3 losses in the top 5 for quality of opponent win.

Please don't remind me.  Cry

Anyone know the URL?

I have no idea what this stat means but our URI win got us into some impressive company.

Wow! Dreams of post season victories.

guarantees our first winning road record ever in the A-10.  No one.  Absolutely NO ONE throughout that was possible two months ago.

Very true!
So pleased with the team and Coach!

We need to start shaking the trees of all of those Social Workers we turn out .... I hear we're tops, or near the top, in rankings for those high earners.

Who needs science and engineering types, innovating themselves into fortunes, like the other peer schools can bank on?

This gap really puts the pressure on you Finance and Law 1% ers!   Thank God for you!

We shouldn't get rid of the programs, but do we grow those programs at the expense of STEM and Business? Yeah, I know Sociology is a science.
26  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: If liberty can do it than why can't we? on: February 21, 2017, 04:55:47 pm
Labor is much cheaper in the Commonwealth, universities are not unionized down there.  Land is a few thousand per acre.
27  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: RHG renovations on: February 21, 2017, 04:51:04 pm
The endowment isn't the issue, imo, because virtually all of it is restricted and can't be used.  I think part of it is that the leadership is ultra-conservative when it comes to spending and doesn't place a high value on athletic spending.

As it was explained to me by the former vp of development, Fordham has been structured over the years almost like separate universities.   Many redundancies with both schools in NYC.  Not many private colleges operate in that model.

Compared to our peers, the endowment should be larger.

NYC is an expensive town.
28  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: If liberty can do it than why can't we? on: February 20, 2017, 07:00:48 pm
Departments should have a separate development office for planning, construction, and fundraising.  ADs should hire coaches, and schedule seasons.

The crowd sounds engaged at the gym, can anyone confirm?
