I hope that's correct Coach.

But I think we'll win at least one of those games.   We play Lehigh at home.

So what you are saying is.....that we beat Lehigh?
2  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: Memorial Field stadium on: May 16, 2017, 05:10:14 pm
Any FCS team we could I'm sure accommodate at JCF with some portable bleachers added.

Julio has that covered.
3  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: Memorial Field stadium on: May 16, 2017, 04:40:20 pm
Want to expand on that?

No, it was while you were in school.  It included moving the baseball field over near Icahn Stadium and visitors bleachers being installed.  This train left the station.
4  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: Memorial Field stadium on: May 16, 2017, 03:39:27 pm
Seems like the point is lost on you again.  Why not keep the option of an off-campus game on the table?   It has nothing to do with improving JCF, which we all agree needs to happen. My last attempt of using logic.

Thanks to RealDeal and others the JCF Renovation which was a real renovation is now stuck 10+ years in mothballs after much work was accomplished and spent with designs, drafts and architecual volunteer's time
5  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: P. Odom - Pro Day/NFL Draft Outlook on: May 16, 2017, 01:28:22 pm
Tomlin is making Odom his project.  With that being said, it is highly likely it will be for a position other than TE from what I have been told.
6  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Why the RHG is to be Named for McGlaughlin on: May 16, 2017, 01:22:24 pm
Understood.  But fails to address that Frank was not the decision maker.  Your analogy doesn't work here.  He is an easy target because the Ram Dome didn't get built ...

Wasn't it going to be called the Digger-Dome?
7  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Why the RHG is to be Named for McGlaughlin on: May 16, 2017, 01:19:54 pm
If we're looking for meaning, I want to know what it means that we haven't heard anything about the fund-raising effort!  It was announced to much fanfare and then slowly dwindled away . . .

Poor marketing technique?

Rambacker has it covered......

Just glad he's getting a shot and that it sounds like they may be patient with him (to the extent that NFL teams ever have patience).  I agree that blocking was not his forte but he definitely showed improvement as a blocker last year so at least it shows he's willing and able to improve there.

Tomlin is the most patient coach in the most patient organization with a long term focus in the NFL.  This is a perfect fit for Odom.
9  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: P. Odom - Pro Day/NFL Draft Outlook on: May 16, 2017, 08:31:26 am
So they're going to get him up to 325 lbs and what?  Move him to offensive tackle?   Huh?

Maybe, or Def Line
10  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: P. Odom - Pro Day/NFL Draft Outlook on: May 16, 2017, 08:30:24 am
Their starting RT Villanueva was aTE at West Point so there's precedent. But I'm still not sure PO has the makeup required to be a consistently good blocker. Hope he proves me wrong and has a long, prosperous NFL career

He was a Wide Receiver first at West Point, not a TE.

I grew up three block from this location in Pelham Manor.  My elitist, snob neighbors would NEVER let that much traffic come through their town.

WONT HAPPEN.

The only way that this happens is if the Cuomo family owns the land or adjacent land to this area.  This local government and the State Government are out of control.  It happens if money is to be made by insiders.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed one tryout player coming out of their rookie minicamp, inking tight end Phazahn Odom, according to the Houston Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson.     Bamn!   Congrats P !

Odom was one of the top players from the tryout bunch and is an interesting size player at 6’8 250 pounds. He ran a 4.79 at his Pro Day. Odom, out of Fordham, had a down senior season but caught seven touchdowns as a junior, setting a school record by a tight end.

He’ll compete with David Johnson, Xavier Grimble, and if he hasn’t been cut, UDFA Scott Orndoff.

The Steelers will have to release one player to get back to the 90 man roster. We’ll update this article when that move is announced.

Pittsburgh signed four tryout players a year ago and one of them – Marcus Tucker – is still on the roster.

Congrats to Odom for this accomplishment.  This is great news for him.  Tomlin loves height and athleticism.  I sense from the couple of guys that I have spoken to that Tomlin makes Odom his "project" and that there is a good chance he makes the practice squad this year and they try to put 50-75 pounds on him over the course of the next year.  This way it gives them options for him.

Unfortunately his lackluster Pro/Local days with the Jets and Giants got the best of him.  Word travels quickly.  Hopefully there is a happy ending with Odom's NFL story.

It had been a long time since I thought about Smush Parker's 2002 draft day.  Thanks, JC.

At least Smush played in the NBA.  JC never will.

You would think with Seng, AA and JC pulling these stunts this week that we had just finished a Sweet 16 season.  I guess the spiffy new McLaughlin family floor underwritten by Rambacker is not enticing them to stay.

Comedy hour!!
16  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Moving forward 2017-18 on: March 29, 2017, 12:26:02 am
The transfers are done. Don't care. What counts is the talent coming in.

Zero JUCO's
17  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Moving forward 2017-18 on: March 29, 2017, 12:25:20 am
Signing JUCOs certainly eliminates the possibility of graduating early. Surprisingly, I have not heard or read recently about us recruiting any JUCOs. Maybe the staff is keeping it quiet?

We are not signing any JUCO's.  Our staff wasn't even in Hutchinson Kansas last week.  The JUCO top 100 has not been touched by us.
18  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Moving forward 2017-18 on: March 29, 2017, 12:24:02 am
Let's wait until we see our incoming recruiting class to make an assessment. I predict that next season all of this drama will be forgotten.

You are so off base and out in left field......Rose Hill Colored Glasses in full usage.  Our incoming recruiting class will include no JUCO's.  That means that we will be in a development stage.
19  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Moving forward 2017-18 on: March 28, 2017, 07:53:13 pm
As usual, you have no clue what you are talking about.

I am spot on with my assessment.
20  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Moving forward 2017-18 on: March 28, 2017, 07:52:37 pm
Good Bye AA, Good Bye CS.......you are dead to me.  ZERO LOYALTY!!  I wish you good riddance.  Coach Neu.....Clean house, get rid of all the others if there is any leftover.....

Short term success vs a long term legacy is what was at stake.....  You chose the short term.  Go enjoy your one year of "success"....Don't ever have me find you putting Fordham on your resume.....

People can be annoyed and hate me for this but you won't change my mind ever.
21  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Moving forward 2017-18 on: March 28, 2017, 03:19:25 pm
Not sure what the smile is all about, but Rich is very right. Lots of others on this forum have info, but do not post it b/c the whole thing is fluid. No real point in posting these things until they have occurred.

Rambacker is playing the role of Kevin Bacon in Animal House......."Remain Calm, All is well, we have a new facilities project on the horizon".  His smiley face means nothing.  He has no "inside information" on anything related to the team.
22  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Moving forward 2017-18 on: March 28, 2017, 02:09:19 pm
We are all gluttons for punishment.

Fr. McShane and the Board of Trustees continue to fail miserably at stewarding the university's highest profile sport.

Fr. McShane and the BOT are stewards of a "major facilities upgrade" which will be occurring "soon" named in honor of the McLaughlin family.
23  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Moving forward 2017-18 on: March 28, 2017, 12:23:42 pm
This is no way to build a program. I am sorry can't keep having this type of turnover year after year. We are not a power conference team that can keep absorbing these type of losses especially for players that have been with the program a couple of years.

I totally agree.....especially with a "major facilities renovation" about to take place.  There should be a level of excitement radiating through Rose Hill.
24  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Moving forward 2017-18 on: March 28, 2017, 12:16:36 pm
So if this speculation is over AA and/or JC, and that is what I am hearing, then where does the blame finger get pointed?  I am sorry, but I will not be pointing it at Coach.....he is part of the solution but not part of the problem.  I blame the lack of commitment and the administration first and foremost and then Sengfelder second for opening the flood gates.  This "renovation/floor replacement/private jet" comedy show has to be seriously reviewed.
25  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: P. Odom - Pro Day/NFL Draft Outlook on: March 27, 2017, 04:17:27 pm
So you were talking out of your a$$ then. okay got it.

No, I just private messaged you.
26  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Football / Re: P. Odom - Pro Day/NFL Draft Outlook on: March 27, 2017, 03:43:58 pm
In an effort to keep the threads on topic, I'm responding to an Odom post within this thread.

Ram-Spouse - you mentioned that NFL Scouts said Odom was too soft to play DE. I'm wondering where you heard this? Did he have another pro-day as a defensive player at some point? Did he hold private workouts? I'm curious where you got this information, especially since you're the only person to ever claim he'd be lining up as a DE.

Thanks for the response.

Why are you so obsessed with this topic?  The NFL Scouts that I know "think" and "believe" that he has potential as a DE....Good God.  How did you play D1 athletics allowing me to get in your head so easily?  You must have jumped off sides a lot.

your predictions are spot on. when do we get to see Odom line up as a DE?

It's not happening.  NFL scouts said that he is too soft.  Now pipe down and go back to sitting in your box seats at MSG with all of your "connections".
29  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Moving forward 2017-18 on: March 27, 2017, 02:36:08 pm
Sengfelder has offers that he can't refuse, and that's fair. He'll be playing in the tournament next March. He has his pick of at least three tournament caliber schools.

There should be more than one more add going into next winter, as there will also be more than one more departure.

Having another "miss" is not an option, so whether it's Papa or Mama or Isaiah Cousins brother, it has to be an impact player.

There will be times next season where there are four guards on the floor: JC, AA, Havsa, Hicks.

Bunting may be rehearsing lines this summer for the part of Christian Sengfelder.

Yes, I agree......  Siena, Iona and Monmouth are legitimate tourney schools.  Hopefully he latches on to one of them and they make the tourney.

Best of luck!!

I heard that none of our coaches were in Hutchinson, Kansas over the last week at the National JUCO Tourney.  32 teams were there.  I would assume that someone on those 32 teams could help us.

Confused.....
