To honor John's life, a wake will be held tomorrow, March 20 from 5pm to 9pm at McGrath Funeral Home in Bronxville, Westchester County.

A funeral Mass is scheduled for Tuesday at 11am at the Fordham University Church on the Rose Hill campus. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the John Andariese Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Fordham University.

Look forward to seeing everyone shortly on this sad occasion.

RIP Johnny Hoops

I heard he was asked to have a pro-day as a TE, but refused. Wants to show off his skills as a defensive player!

LOL, very funny.  Too bad that it is true.

Kenny Smith just said that Rhode Island is the hottest team in the Big Dance.

And his alter-ego on here.

Enjoy your betting and gambling today PETER.  Have you bet on any 16-1 seed upsets today or tomorrow?
5  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Fordhamfans NCAA Tournament Bracket on: March 15, 2017, 06:51:52 pm
Indeed. I'm not one to "out" anyone. That's their call. Ultimately, these things tend to comes out one way or other.

Hmmmmm......So what are you say PETER?  Using words like creepy, "out",  "these things", etc....How do you really feel PETER?
6  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Fordhamfans NCAA Tournament Bracket on: March 15, 2017, 12:40:07 pm
he's not. he's been fixating on me for weeks. creepy and a bit uncomfortable but we'll let it roll for now. As i've said, when you actually piece together who the real character is behind the alias, it becomes laughable. Creepy still, but laughable.

Thanks Petey, no worries.  Keep hiding behind your non-gambling smoke screen.  NOT!!!
7  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Fordhamfans NCAA Tournament Bracket on: March 15, 2017, 02:25:25 am
At the table with Mike McDermott here, "lot of action...lot of action..."

Final 4: Villanova, Kentucky, Louisville, Notre Dame.

Kentucky over Villanova.

How much you wanna bet?  Lets get some real action going.

The man who succeeded Johnny Bach as AD was Peter A. "Big Pete" Carlesimo. He forced Ed Conlin to resign because he felt that Ed was spending too much time on his insurance business. That was the story that was put out, at any rate. You are correct that the great 1970-71 team was recruited by Ed Conlin. Sad that he was not allowed to coach it.

Big Pete also didn't enjoy being in Eddie's shadow all the time.

They were behaving like civilized people applauding a fellow inductee , not like lemmings. I see nothing wrong with that. If I had my druthers , I think the floor should be named after Ed Conlin and Anne Gregory. I guess my point is all this angsting and name calling is not getting anybody anywhere. I think it would be far more productive to contact - either verbally or in writing - Roger Milici. This was his doing.

Your "Lemmingness" is shining brightly.  How do you know that McGuirk was a hellava player?  You missed his playing career by a decade.  And being civilized.....Blahahahahahahaha.

Having a conversation with Frank and Eddie Conlin in the same discussion is comical.  Frank couldn't hold Eddie's jock strap as either a player or a coach.  Frank and Digger should thank their lucky stars that Eddie had a short-fuse temper and leftt/fired before the 1970 season.  Those teams were molded and created thanks to Eddie and Johnny Bach.  Digger was lucky to take over for Eddie.

Actually , those "lemmings" you are referring to were fellow inductees into the Athletic Hall of Fame in the same year. Know some of them and they are super people. The woman is Kirsten Greene , Sebastian's sister , for track and field ; and the guy on the right was Wayne McGuirk , one heckuva a point guard in the 1950s. Penders was on the stage that day but I don't see him pictured.

Not sure what your point is?  The Lemming definition fits perfectly.  Another example of the myth that continues to be created about his Hall of Fame Legacy.  Everyone in attendance blindly applauding his Hall of Fame credentials.  #alternativefacts.

Look at all the Lemmings clapping......

15  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: RHG renovations on: March 13, 2017, 12:07:21 pm
The fact that they closed the comments section to that article shows that they clearly are in the wrong and they don't care.

100% disgrace.  I can't wait to find out who the elitist gate keeper is that will be able to choose who is worthy or not to get into the VIP section.
16  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: RHG renovations on: March 13, 2017, 02:40:14 am
Here's the thing about the VIP suite.  You have the oldest gym in the country still in use.  You need new seats and a new floor?  It would be cool to put some retro touches on anything you can so that when people walk in they are reminded of Cameron, or Hinkle, or of Hickory, Indiana.  No such thing as a VIP suite in retro gyms.

Had they solicited any feedback from people, maybe someone would have said this particular design aesthetic won't work and here's why....

The fact that we are 11 pages into a thread about the Rose Hill gym "renovation" is an utter embarrassment to this tone-deaf, elitist administration and "Powers that be".  We have 11 pages of complaints about this "project ".  There are probably 300+ comments on this thread and with the exception of 5-10 positive comments from Rambacker all the other comments are 100% negative.

The elitist administration is an embarrassment and this "project" is a complete joke.  Anyone contributing to this joke of a project should have their head examined.

The comical part is the money being solicited....that speaks volumes.  This solicitation for funding this "project" should have been wrapped up in one phone call session to "donors"..... Strike that....there shouldn't have even been a solicitation.  A check should have been cut from the University for general facilities maintenance.

This isn't putting lipstick on a pig, this is putting lipstick on a bunghole.

Spouse is laughable.

I'm always amused when I realize who some of the board characters are in real life - without their anonymous alias.

What would you like to know with all your inside knowledge that you have.  Oh, and I need no idiotic point spread knowledge.
18  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Moving forward 2017 on: March 11, 2017, 09:44:33 am
Wow you should be recruiting for a top 25 team with your eye for talent.

Rich, I am not going to get in a pissing match with you on this kid.  We have a need on this team.  You, obviously, don't know this player, but would rather shoot the messenger.  One of our fellow higher level Conf. rivals sees his talent so therefore we will see him next year on the opposite side of the court and you can evaluate him then.
19  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Moving forward 2017 on: March 11, 2017, 09:41:40 am
And you know he wants to come here?  He is a can't miss double double in the A-10?   He is qualified now?  You see his current transcripts?   Take a hike with this stupidity.

Nice comeback for someone who knows zero about this player.  Do we need muscle on this team?
20  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Moving forward 2017 on: March 11, 2017, 09:40:27 am
And you know he wants to come here?  He is a can't miss double double in the A-10?

Yes and Yes
21  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Moving forward 2017-18 on: March 11, 2017, 09:37:29 am
Because he wanted to go to a different conference, difference school, he may not have academically qualified for four year school or a 100 other reasons.  Not sure you know as much as you think if you need that explained to you.

He wanted to come here and was academically ineligible.  End of story.  We could have him again, but the staff is not interested.
22  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Moving forward 2017 on: March 11, 2017, 09:36:23 am

It is a time honored tradition on this board to get obsessed with one player.

The foundation is being built and it is getting done in the spring.  So we wait and see who comes in.

Time to dust off the golf clubs and let the staff do their job.

We had zero "muscle" and/or a bruiser on this team this year, and we are in dire need of a double/double power forward.  The foundation gets built that way.  The "Staff" is not doing their job on this opportunity.  I will wait and see who they bring in but if they don't bring in a guy like this who would come here then I rest my case.
23  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Moving forward 2017-18 on: March 11, 2017, 09:31:33 am
Fordham offered Rodriguez when he was a high school senior in Sparta, NJ, apparently, recruiting class of 2015.  According to 247.  He also has offers from Wichita St., etc.  Seems like a decent juco but why all this inside baseball stuff if he or we isn't interested.  Even if you grab a top 100 recruit the other 99 go somewhere else.
You, obviously, know zero about NCAA basketball.  Why would he be at JUCO when he could have had a full ride at Fordham 2 years ago?  I will leave that one to you to answer.  Also, TP made a lot of offers in his sunset year.....many of those "offers" were rejected by JN when he came on board.
24  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: RHG renovations on: March 11, 2017, 09:27:13 am
Apparently a certain amount of the money raised will go for other budget items like charter flights for the team. At some point that money will run out and more will have to be raised with another naming opportunity.  How does the "Julio Diaz Victory Bell" sound?

No....they are saving the football temporary bleachers which they bring out for "big games" for Julio for the naming rights.
25  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Moving forward 2017-18 on: March 10, 2017, 11:20:28 pm
A lot of times when I'm told we are not interested in a guy, I wonder if part of that reason is because they are not interested in Fordham.

100% incorrect!  The sad thing is that he is exactly what we need.

He will dominate us at St Bonnies, if he goes there.
26  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Moving forward 2017-18 on: March 10, 2017, 06:28:19 pm
Thanks, but again, is our staff after him or is this just a suggestion?

From what I am told the answer is No but the rest of the A-10 is interested in him.
27  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Moving forward 2017-18 on: March 10, 2017, 06:25:01 pm
No idea who that is but I don't matter.  Question is does our staff know if this player?

I have been told that our staff knows of him and is not interested in him, but St. Bonnies has already offered him a full boat.  I guess we will see him at least twice next year.
28  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Moving forward 2017-18 on: March 10, 2017, 06:21:12 pm
Please. Smith is a guard, and if he didn't want to put the work in and fight for playing time that's on him, not the coaches.

So what do you want Mr. Wooden?
29  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: RHG renovations on: March 10, 2017, 11:05:51 am
This is truly the most shameful and disgraceful project in the 35 years that I have been involved with and following Fordham.

I really think we should move to stop it but not sure it would do any good.

I hear that we have contracted a special floor guy that has a state of the art Polyurethane sealant that will be the first of its kind used on an NCAA floor.  This will add 1.5-2.0 wins to our record next year according to PeterMartin from his spread and handicapping analysis that he does on an hourly basis.

Also once this sealant is used the floor is sealed and the only option for repair is a brand new floor.  Therefore the McLaughlin family name will be etched into our playing floor for the next 50 years minimum.
30  The Fordham Forums / Fordham Men's Basketball / Re: Moving forward 2017-18 on: March 10, 2017, 11:00:32 am
Too bad Slanina wasn't in the mix down the stretch and Hicks missed the year.  Having those guys next season will be nice additions.

We need a shooter and need a 4 who is a double double threat.  Maybe Hicks is the shooter.

I'm excited for next season  Smiley

The double double threat is the current Conference player of the year with the Northwest Florida State JUCO Raiders.
