I just received news that our good friend and loyal Fordham booster, RAMON, is gravely ill.

Paul has been struggling mightily with his health over the past two years and his daughter has notified several close friends that the situation is grave.

In all the years that I have been associated with Fordham University, nobody has been more loyal to our school than this fine man. He knew Fordham's history backward and forward. Frequently, we negotiated with one another about who would bid on certain Fordham EBay items. We had a lot of laughs over some of the stuff we hid from our wives.

Above all, Paul's family was the most important thing in his life. His wife, Regina, attended football games with Paul when we were winless and when we won the Patriot League, His brother, another Ram, also joined him at Jack Coffey Field along with his sister and brother-in-law. Finally, he loved beyond any measure his daughters, Meghan and Katherine.

I am certain that when Paul reaches heaven, he will ask Saint Peter if the reception for WFUV is static-free on Saturday afternoons.

Please pray for this courageous son of Fordham.

A.M.D.G.

Paul is indeed a great Ram. I am saddened to hear this news. One thing I always admired was his commitment to Fordham's Alumni Mentoring Program (one of the school's most underrated offerings). I know there was multiple years when he mentored multiple students and you could tell he made a great impact. His dedication to the program was one reason why I have stayed involved with it. My prayers are with him and his family as well.

Paul is a terrific human being and an extremely loyal Fordham Ram. Last year at one of the BB games, he saw my Fordham Sailing belt and ordered one on the spot. Early this past season, I asked if he had started an intense physical regimen due to his weight loss. He told me the reason and I swallowed hard as I lost a very good friend and Fordham alumnus years ago to the same cause. I've been out of the country for two weeks and returned yesterday. This evening, I checked the Board for the first time and when I saw the subject "Ramon," I dreaded the news. May Paul have the grace and peace of a happy passing. He will be a tremendous loss to his family and the entire Fordham Community, including this Forum. God bless him and his loved ones always.

Good morning,

Yesterday, Paul F. Reilly, FCRH '80 passed away.

Arrangements are being made as I write this note and it appears that the McGrath Funeral Home in Bronxville will be where the wake will take place. An obituary will be in the local Westchester newspaper as well as The New York Times. The funeral Mass will most likely be at Saint Joseph's in Bronxville.

Requiescat in pace.

Enjoyed several football seasons with Paul in Section 8.  A proud and true Fordham man.

RIP

May he rest in peace.

I did not know him and perhaps it is not my place to do so, but below is a link to the obituary.
