I agree with Peter . The OOC schedule is an embarrassment and the Historic RHG will be empty and the administration will wonder why. In addition to Peter's list , put Fairfield and Holy Cross on the schedule.
I'll second it. This OOC sked is garbage. We will do well against it, but that won't be enough to excite the masses. 9-4 OOC, 7-11 A-10; 16 wins total heading into the conference tournament.  I am less interested in what we are offensively than what we are defensively.  Without seeing improvement on that end of the floor, I have a hard time calling for the record to be better than last season's.

If we run the table in the OOC and fail to get a winning record in the A-10, yeah, the OOC sked is garbage. But let's play it before we judge.

I do not want this thread to turn into a discussion of the OOC schedule but quickly, it is certain that the home games are not crowd pleasers but the schedule as a whole is excellent for where we are as a program.  Reality is that our home and homes dictate that we play Manhattan SJU and Harvard away this year, next year they will be at the RHG.   The UTA home game should excite basketball fans this year as They are a bubble team    And the Best team to come to RHG since Harvard was ranked in 2012.  Saint Peter's is solid this year so that is a good game.

While I think we will be better then last year, I think our record may not match last year given the slightly upgraded schedule.

OOC 8-5
A-10 8-10

Cub fans preparing for a WS game 7 is proof that nothing is impossible.

11-2 OOC, 14-4 A-10, 25-6 total. A First Four win followed up with a bittersweet search  for a new coach. Time is running out for The Curse of The Billy Goat and The Curse of Jeff Gray!

  Go Cubs!

14-4 in the A-10?? I'd say put down the crack pipe, but what was even crazier is you followed that up with a First Four game. If the Rams go 14-4 in the A-10 we will be debating anywhere from a 7-10 seed. A First Four?? Congrats to your Cubs, but it sounds like you were drinking blue river water when you posted this.

Bonas was 14-4 and didn't even make play in.  Huge slap in the face of A10 but true nonetheless

And SI predicted Bonnie's to finish 7th last year with an 8-10 record.  They end at 14-4 (22-9) overall and get snubbed. Could history repeat itself for Rams?  Probably not. But, hey, can't a guy dream a little after a few pints of Guinness?

But they were not 11-2 OOC.

     It's nice to see the enthusiasm for the upcoming season as it pertains to record projections but I am concerned about a few issues that I believe will have an effect on our overall record.
1. The loss of our two top scorers, Rhoomes and Thomas, who provided senior leadership. Rhoomes carried us many times last season.
2. Defensive rebounding, Rhoomes carried us.
3. The influx of several new players who we need production from right away, specifically Hawkins.
4. The  upgraded ooc schedule.
5. Our lack of a bulky forward/center to bang against some of the bigger teams.
6  Growing pains

     I think we are gonna take some time to gel on offense with many new parts. I believe our D could be pretty solid as the year goes on and I believe our team will get better as the season progresses but I'm looking at a record between 14-16 and 16-14. I am also concerned about injuries and how it could effect us coming out of the gate. I will add that some growing pains this season are gonna help us in the long run and that next season we will have a very solid team. See ya at the RHG.

Can the 'sticklers' among us, like me, put you down for the only record that is "between 14-16 and 16-14"?   ... that is 15-15

The A10 will be tougher this year with more good teams top to bottom. Regardless of our system I think Rhoomes will be missed and there will be nights were we get killed on the glass. With that said we have a deeper team and JN has some players back who played some good minutes last year and some good new guys who have to play right away. I expect a similar record as last year with our young guys gaining valuable experience and us making a jump the following season in 17-18.
OOC: 9-4 ( losses are @ETSU, vs UTA, @Harvard, @St. John's )
CONF: 8-10
OVR: 17-14 (before conf. tournament)

Interesting most think we are looking at a 9-4 10-3 OOC and 7-11 to 10-8 conference.  Not a lot of irrational exuberance or pessimism.

Always look forward so you don't go backwards.  We'll have a better record than last year in A-10.

Wanted to get this on record. Don't understand people calling our OOC schedule garbage. As Rich said this is perfect for where we are at as a program. 6-7 games that seem to be W's. Some tough mid-majors (ETSU, UT Arlington, St Peters, Manhattan, Harvard) and local High Majors (SJU, Rutgers).

OOC: 9-4 (Losses vs SJU, Harvard, ETSU, UTA) Worried about Saint Peters and Fairlegih Dickinson as they have veteran tested teams.
A-10: 9-9;
regular season:18-13;
Conference tournament: 1-1;

19 wins and a postseason tournament. Neubauer is a winner and he will continue to win this year. Not a huge jump in wins due to a much better schedule both in OOC and Conference.

Here goes, as I excitedly count down the minutes until 7 PM tonight.

OOC: 10-3
A10: 10-8
A10 Tourney: 0-1
Post-season of some sort: 1-1 (not sure if 20-11 and one and done gets us to the NIT with our SOS, but don't think so)

21-13

Excited for tonight vs. ETSU and tomorrow's HC football game at Yankee Stadium.

10-3 in OOC
11-7 in the A-10
1-1 in A-10 Tourney

Barring injuries, we catch our stride at mid-season and go 21-10 regular season, with an NIT bid. 1-1 in the NIT.

23-12 Season Record.

Go Rams!

Getting my prediction in just before the first game:

OOC  9 - 3  (Only D1)

IC  11-7

NIT Bid

Pretty optimistic.

Also, NY Tech would be a win too.

Peter- you beat me too it!

Some posters need to take off their maroon colored sunglasses and look at this season from an objective standpoint.

Look at your preseason predictions. Did the team measure up to your expectations? Nobody here predicted a losing record. We finished the season 5 games below .500. We did not make a post season tourney. Our overall record was significantly worst than last year.

I'm just dumbfounded how posters could be happy with how this season turned out.  Huh?

You are a special kind of stupid aren't you?  People are talking about the game and taking into account the injuries we battled all year long.  No one said the OOC performance was acceptable. Everyone wanted more wins in conference but all things considered the team and staff did a good job regrouping after a bad start and battling through numerous injuries.  Any objective observer would acknowledge that while at the same time acknowledging we need to upgrade in some areas especially on offense.

No one on this board would have taken a 13-19 record, true.  But for the first half of the season we were a train wreck and looked to be at ground zero, again.  We were losing to horrible teams and getting blown out by average ones.  So while no one would have taken our record, I also doubt anyone would have thought we would avoid the pig games after our blowout loss to SJU, or that we would win 5 road games or beat VCU.  Most people at the 16 game mark would have predicted 1-2 more wins in the second half of the season at best, with a lot of 20 point losses thrown in.  The reason people are optimistic after a 13-19 season is because JN and his 7 healthy players righted the ship and dodged the enormous ice burg.  We have a strong and experienced nucleus coming back and need to add a few players, but we could be a top half team next year very realistically.
