Game time is Saturday at 2 pm at home.

After the St. Joe's loss and shooting our 2nd worst pctg all season, next to the ND game, I expect a solid win here.

VCU is 10-10, 3-4 and have a lot of depth; they are 10 players deep and have an experienced team.  4 starters are seniors or grad students.  The 5th is a junior.  Four are guards.  They are a decent team, but I think Coach Gaitley will have the team up for this one, and we'll have the comfort of our home court to get back on track.

We lead conference at 6-1 followed by GW and Dayton at 5-1. Schedule gets tougher from here on.

Yes it does!  St. Louis and GW, both away, are up next.

After 1 qtr, we're up 17-9.  Holden leads with 5; Burns and Kelly have 4 points. We're shooting 54%.

At the half, we're up 32-24, but had a 16 point lead at one point.

Burns has 7 and Missry has 6.

We're shooting 44% to VCU's 36%.

VCU is getting their shots, most in the paint.  They are just not converting.  We've missed 3 layups.

Davis has 7 boards.

We're down 40-34 half way through the 3rd qtr.  VCU is on a cumulative 22-2 run.  They are shooting 47% now.

Missry needs to start playing some defense.

We're down 46-43 after 3 qtrs.  Quite a turnaround for VCU and one of our worst defensive performance stretches all year.  VCU led by as many as 7.

Kelly and Burns have 9 points.

Kelly had a steal and missed her 2nd wide open layup with the score tied at 48.  Coach is keeping her in with 4 fouls though.

Davis missed a layup a minute later, followed by one from Burns.  That's 6 layups missed.

We lost 61-58, allowing VCU to shoot 45%.  We turned it over with 22 seconds left out of a time out.  We then let them get an offensive board off a missed FT.

Kelly led us with 16 while Burns and Davis had 12.  Davis also had 13 boards.

We're now 15-7, 6-2 and face a good and a tall St. Louis team in a week.

VCU was ranked 5th in the A10 in a preseason poll and we were ranked 6th.

Thanks again, tx. I caught the end. Some uncharacteristic play, including throwing the ball away on the inbounds pass. Can't say we worked it for a decent shot at the end either. Too bad. Saw Kelly's missed layup but then watched her with two nice drives for layups. She's a player.

I love the way Kelly penetrates, which we needed more of today, something Kreslina usually does as well, but she had limited PT today.  Kelly rarely misses a layup, let alone a wide open one, and can hit a short floater with her left hand, as she did in the closing minute.
