Impressive win over the first-place Flyers this afternoon on senior day, 66-52. A nice rebound from the disappointing L @ Davidson. Congrats to the seniors and coach!

Defense and clock management on offense ruled the day...eerily similar to the prescription for success yesterday afternoon in the same location.

Great to hear! I am on the road with limited access and could not listen to the game. Can some provide a few who did what details?

game was closer than final would indicate      watched the 2nd half and we never trailed     withstood several Dayton mini runs, think they may have gotten as close as 3     Burns hit 2 or 3 straight baskets off the bench   D was solid    Kreslina and Holden hit all their FTs in the last few minutes to pull away  (believe maybe 7 - 7 )    kept Dayton from clinching at least a piece of f first place

We maintained a lead of 4-6 points thru 4th quarter. We kept letting the shot clock run way down. Kreslina had to take a desperation three and was FOULED! She hit all three!  Now we're comfortable, Dayton had to foul. Holden hit 2/2, then Kreslina 2/2, then Holden again 2/2. Unbelievably clutch free throw shooting accounts for that big difference at end.

Game was played with tournament intensity on both sides. Dayton had two athletic bigs which we did a great job defending in the second half. True team effort in all respects but Kristina and Goulding had their best games of the year. Great to see some of the men's basketball team there and a significant number of football players , who lead an "it's all over chant" , in the final minute. Incredible coaching by Steph , who got into the refs' heads mid Q-4 , after some awful pro Dayton calls. I think there is an opening round A-10 tourney game at RHG next Sunday. This team deserves support .

I left out Mary Goulding who went 2/2 during the final stretch. Oddly, Hannah went to the line with a chance to make this old guy relax and she missed both. Go figure. It got a little rough there. I just noticed G'Mrice played 39 minutes. She missed one after getting a shot to the face...ruled inadvertent.

I only saw the last five minutes so there not much I can add to the analysis

It was an intense game and the team really closed it out calmly and hit their free throws

Terrific win after they hit a rough patch mid season

Looking forward to seeing them in A10 tournament

Here's the SID's recap of the game:  http://www.fordhamsports.com/news/2017/2/19/womens-basketball-drops-first-place-dayton-on-senior-day.aspx?path=wbball

Kreslina had 19, Holden 13 and Davis 13.  Davis missed her double double with "only" 9 boards.

We shot 42% and 31% from three, almost our usual average.  We shot 80% from the line, making 16 to Dayton's 7.

We had just 11 TOs, vs 14 assists.

We had 10 offense boards to their 5, leading to 19 second chance points vs 4.  We also had 13 points off TOs vs 9.

Once again Goulding started instead of Burns.

There were a little over 900 there, including a lot from men's athletic teams who got on the refs when there were some questionable calls against us.

We're in 5th place with a 10-5 record behind SLU, GW and Dayton (12-3) and SJU (11-4).  We play #6 LaSalle (9-6) on Wed., who have the A10's leading scorer.
