In the first NCAA Softball RPI released for 2017, the Rams came in #35, close to where they were earlier in the top-25 only rankings.

Elsewhere among NE teams, Pitt is #31, Syracuse is #68, BC is #71, St. John's is #77, Hofstra is #96, and Penn State is #100.  The highest other A10 team is St. Louis at #151.

We play Hofstra tomorrow and St. John's later in the year.  Not much chance to move up a lot, but we could get to #25-30 if we keep winning.

Don't be surprised to see the RPI get worse even if we keep winning.

Nothing replaces success in the revenue sports.  Nothing.  That's not to take away from the success in the Olympic sports - they do matter.  It isn't a replacement for success in the flagship sports. - Debbie Yow, AD - NC State

Yep that's possible too based on the weakness of the A10 teams.

St. John's was picked to win the Big East. That could be a good game/test late in the regular season.

Unfortunately that is spot on when you consider:
Dayton - Ranked 157
UMASS - Ranked 177
GW - Ranked 187
La Salle - Ranked 198
St Joe's - Ranked 233

Amazing at the drop off after the Rams for the rest of the A10 - Ram's still have a good team and have played well
