There's a double header starting at noon on Saturday and a single game starting at noon on Sunday.  Only Live Stats will be available Saturday.  The game Sunday will be streamed.

I can't cover much of any of the games.

George Mason is 10-22 but 4-2 in conference, having taken 2 from LaSalle and, surprisingly, 2 from Dayton, both by 1 run.

They are only hitting .229 as a team and have little power.  Their pitching, relatively, is somewhat better, with a 3.41 ERA, and Sophomore Marina Vitalich, has a 1.88 ERA.  Expect to see her twice.  Their fielding is pretty weak at .917.

Amy Van Hoven is out for us and will probably be for quite some time.

What is her injury?
Leg injury per the announcers.  In a cast and on crutches at the end of the SJU video telecast.  Broken ankle/leg? (guess)

Rams win Game 1 in 9 innings- 5-3
We had the bases loaded with one out in the 8th and we didn't score.  Our 3 runs in the 9th were unearned.

Figueroa made a great catch in LF with the bases loaded to end the game.

Quense got the win, giving up 7 hits with 8 Ks and 3 BBs.

We got 7 hits.  Mayer and Storm (DP) each had 2.  We had 11 LOB.  Mayer's 2nd hit was her 200th collegiate career hit.

Aughinbaaugh played RF to try and get more offense in the lineup with Van Hoven out.

Quense and Vergona had errors.

We won game two 5-2.

Aughinbaugh got the win.  She gave up 6 hits, had 6 Ks and 2 BBs.  Only 1 of the runs was earned.

We got 9 hits.  Mayer had 3 and Quense had 2.  We had 11 LOB.

Vergona had another error.

We're 29-8, 7-1.  We play the final game vs GM at noon on Sunday.  This one will be streamed.

UMass is 4-1 and it looks like they may give us some competition this year.  They took 2 from GW and 2 from SLU.  We play them next weekend.

In game 3, Stocks is in the circle, possibly meaning Quense's arm is still hurting.  She normally pitches again the second day unless the other team is very weak.  She's not playing 1b or DH either.  Aughinbaugh is in RF.  Storm is DH for Stocks.

Vitalich (1.88 ERA) is back pitching for GM.  She gave us trouble for most of game 1 yesterday.

We went down in order in the first.  Stocks returned the favor.  0-0 after 1.

Johnston doubled with 2 out in the 2nd but was LOB.
Stocks retired GM in order.  0-0 after 2.

In the 3rd, Vergona singled with 1 out.  Figueroa got a bunt single.  Hughes hit into a force.  Canessa got an infield single scoring a run.  Mayer lined out to 1b.
Stocks retired the side in order again.  Rams up 1-0 after 3.

My remaining game coverage will be sporadic, if at all.

We lost game 3 by a 2-1score in the bottom of the 7th.

Quense came in for Stocks in the 5th, who had given up only 2 hits.  In the 7th, she gave up 2 singles, then with 2 out, Mayer, filling in for Van Hoven at SS, booted a GB and let the winning run score.

Johnston, player in Mayer' spot at 3b, made an error earlier.  It's a negative domino effect defensively with Van Hoven out, not to mention, a key missing bat, which we needed badly today.

We got 9 hits, but Figueroa had 3 of them and Canessa had 2.  We had 7 LOB.

The loss puts us at 29-9, 7-2.   We're in 1st still, with St. Joe's in 2nd at 6-3 and UMass in 3rd at 4-2.

We have a busy week, playing Iona on Tuesday, Lehigh in a double header on Wed, then key A10 games vs UMass next weekend.  If Quense's arm/shoulder is still bothering her as the announcer said it was last week, we may not see her in the mid week games.  Iona, led by our former assistant coach, Melissa Inouye, is better this year, with an RPI of #164.  Lehigh is #170, so these won't be easy games.  UMass is #160.

We also will miss Van Hoven on the base paths 20 for 20 stolen bases, a complete player, big loss.
