The game is at home at 3 pm Tuesday, rescheduled from last month due to weather.

Former Ram Assistant Coach Melissa Inouye leads the Gaels, who are are respectable 15-14, 5-1 (in MAAC).   Their wins include one over St. Joe's earlier in the year.

They have a .267 BA and 25 HRs, but very little speed.  Their pitching i a little on the weak side, with a team 5.40 ERA, and their best pitcher having a 4.66 ERA and 1.6 WHIP.

Their RPI this week is #169 while we dropped to #51.

Quense is pitching, so I assume her arm/shoulder is better.

Aughinbaugh is in RF and Storm is DP for Vergona.  The announcers said we are hopeful to get Van Hoven back by the end of the year.

Iona's best pitcher, Skinner, 4.66 ERA, a freshman, is pitching for the Gaels.  She struggled the last time out vs Marist.

Quense gave up a HR in the top of the 1st to Turner, her 6th.
In the bottom half, we went down in order.  Rams down 1-0 after 1.

Both teams went down in order in the 2nd.  Rams down 1-0 after 2.

Quense got them out in order in the 3rd, ending it with a K, her 3rd.
In our half, Quense was HBP.  Figueroa got an infield single.  Both LOB.  Rams down 1-0 after 3.

In the 4th, Quense gave up a LD single off of her glove, got a GB force, gave up another single, got another force, then her 4th K.
In the bottom half, Shaw singled.  Aughinbaugh got an infield single.  Johnston singled to load the bases.  Quense into a force at home.  Storm reached on a 1b error and 2 runs scored.  Rams up 2-1 after 4.

With the lead and a double header tomorrow vs Lehigh, Stocks in to pitch for Quense in the 5th.  She gave up a single that Mayer misjudged at SS.  It should have been caught.  Stocks got a K to end it.
In our half, Harkness (8.90 ERA) in to pitch for Iona.  She has control problems with twice as many BB as Ks.  Hughes lined out to 2b.  Canessa flied out to the RF track.  Mayer blooped a double over 1b.  Shaw flied out.  Rams lead 2-1 after 5.

In the top of the 6th, Skrepenak is in RF for Aughinbaugh.   Stocks gave up a HR to Turner again, having gotten a second life from a foul pop up that dropped between 3 players in short RF.
In the bottom half, Quense walked with 2 outs but was LOB.  2-2 after 6.

In the top of the 7th, Aughinbaugh in to pitch for Stocks and Trivelpiece is in RF.   The side was retired in order.
In our half,  Figueroa lined out to 3b.  Hughes and Canessa singled.  New pitcher for Iona.  Evans, 4.85 ERA.  WP moved runners to 2nd and 3rd.  Mayer sac fly to deep RF scored Hughes.

Rams win 3-2 in a walkoff.  We're 30-9, 7-2.  Thirty wins is a milestone number in softball and I think Bridget has done it every year since 2003, her 2nd year at Fordham.

We had 7 hits scattered throughout the lineup.  Nobody had 2.
Quense went 4 innings, giving up 1 run on 3 hits, with 3 Ks and 9 BBs.
Stocks went 2 innings, giving up 1 run on 2 hits with 2 Ks and 0 BBs.
Aughinbaugh went 1 inning with 1 K.

Not the best performance, but I'm afraid this is how it'll be while we're missing Van Hoven.

We play Lehigh out there twice tomorrow, starting at 2:30.  We beat them earlier in the year in NC by a 4-2 score.
