Rothstein: VCU grad transfer Ahmed Hamdy tells me he committed to TCU. Immediately eligible.

Wow...that's like going from Iona to Iowa...

OK Gloom and Doom Diva  Cheesy
no problem kool aid drinker. So let me get this right. You have a problem with anyone who is concerned that we have no commits, correction one commit now even though I stated I have no problem waiting to see how it all ends up. Stating concern is not gloom and doom nor is it questioning the coaching ability of the staff.  Its probably normal to be concerned at this stage given the lack of recruiting news so far.

Speaking of top 10 classes, and take this for what it is worth, here is Fordham's 247 composite rank in A-10 recruiting classes as far back as it goes.  This was their rank coming in (some years not every A-10 is ranked):

2003 10th in A-10
2004 4th in A-10 (Dunston class, 107th nationally, right ahead of Butler; Butler's class went to Sweet 16 as juniors, 2 classes later went to 2 Finals)
2005 10th in A-10
2006 10th in A-10
2007 12th in A-10
2008 2nd in A-10, 51st nationally right behind Saint Louis in both.  Uh, didn't turn out so well.
2009 5th in A-10 ("Lance Brown" class; Gaston not even listed), 109th nationally between East Carolina (in C-USA at that time) and Quinnipiac
2010 9th in A-10
2011 10th in A-10
2012 not ranked?  Rhoomes/Thomas.  LOL, the unranked class may be the best one.  At least senior year.  Probably 2004 is better.
2013 6th in A-10
2014 8th in A-10
2015 3rd in A-10, 96th nationally.  Chartouny not listed (foreign recruit), Bunting listed, but mainly Smith and Hardnett.
2016 9th in A-10.  That's just Ohams.

Juco's and foreigners not counted, this is just incoming freshmen.  So no Hicks, Slanina or Tavares listed for incoming 2016.

For what it is worth. The highest ranked national class was #51 and the team tanked.

They were both 3 star recruits, Hardnett's national rank was 242, Smith 248.  At that level you are throwing darts to rank, but they were considered to be pretty decent recruits.

Strong guy.  6'7" 243 lbs.  Was in the 150s as a recruit.  Played for Tabor Academy thru 2012-13, then did 2 years at Brewster in NH.  Bunting transferred to Tabor I think after he left.

He was pretty efficient but was low on the depth chart even after Nicholls got canned early this yer by UVa.  Very turnover prone, especially in ACC conference games.  Was more highly rated than Bunting but I think Bunting is better. More athletic.  This guy is built more like Sengfelder, but no outside shot.  Or at least UVa didn't let him take any.

Any other team wins the World Series, good for them. They're drinking champagne, they get a ring. But if we win, on our budget, with this team... we'll have changed the game. And that's what I want. I want it to mean something. - Moneyball

Littleson, not athletic but can shoot at 6'4", although didn't play much or hit much with the Dukes.  Flowers, however looks like he could be pretty good, 6'8". His numbers weren't great. His PT dried up some (he had a big zip line against Fordham), but he went for 20 and 9 against UCF.  UCF was good, 11-7 in the AAC, beat Cincy and Illinois.  He was in the 200s composite, ranked 195 nationally by 247.  I have no idea who was in on him before, but he's from Waterbury.

What crime was he convicted of when he "did 2 years at Brewster in NH"?  Wink
