I haven't kept everyone up to date on my former team since opening weekend, but baseball has been doing well, with an 18-13, 7-4 record, good for 4th in the A10 behind VCU (10-2), last year champs URI (8-3), and George Mason (6-3).  We have big games vs VCU this next weekend and URI the weekend after.

Last week we got an A10 Pitcher of the Week and National Player of the Week Award for Reiss Knehr, who had 16 Ks vs SJU, the most for a Ram pitcher since 1956.  11 of the 16 Ks were in a row.

Kyle Martin was A10 Co-Pitcher of the Week with a pair of relief wins, upping his record to 5-1 for the year.

Senior Luke Stampl leads the team with a .341 BA and .553 slg %.  We're hitting .263 overall vs opponents' .239.  We have 15 HRs to opponents' 10.

Our pitching has a combined ERA of 3.74 to our opponents' 3.79 and we average almost 1K/inning.  Grad Student Jimmy Murphy leads the starters with a 2.59 ERA, with about a 1.1 WHIP.

We don't play the strength of schedule that softball does.  Other than opponent Long Beach State (#13 now), only URI at #65 is in the RPI top 100.  The A10 then drops off to VCU at #140 and SLU at #143.  Despite our decent record, we're at #193, behind the Bonnies at #180.  There are 300 Div 1 teams ranked.  In the NE, St. John's is #25, Binghamton is #44, and UConn is #51.
