Pomeroy doesn't use D-II games at all in his model.   Playing a D2 or D3 team is the same as taking the night off when it comes to his model.    Beating the crap out of a non-D1 team is irrelevant.

OK, mistaken there.  His won loss records listed include wins against non-DI teams.

For example, Pomeroy lists Fordham's record as 13-19.  sagarin says 12-19, omitting NYIT.

Lipscomb is listed at 20-13 on Kenpom.  sagarin has them at 17-13, omitting wins against Piedmont, Fisk and Sewanee.  But if Pomeroy omits them in his calculations, then I was wrong.

Jon Rothstein is calling for an A-10/AAC Challenge in the early season, played in New York City.

Great place to go to a game. The crowd is always loud and it's the only show in town outside of Morgantown hs football. Think we are gonna have a tough time down there but if you go make sure you get wings at keglers after the game. Try the garlic parmesan, awesome.

Interesting. If you recall, Coach Neubauer was the chief assistant coach at WVU from 2002-05, and that's where Eastern Kentucky hired him out of. If nothing else, we should see some vicious defense from both sides at this game.

I'll say.  The number 1 and number 3 team in the country in forcing turnovers per possession.  Press Virginia is also a really good offensive rebounding team.  That's a tough game.

Yes we and 6 other A-10 teams are not included in this hypothetical series thrown out there by Rothstein that will likely never happen.   Roll Eyes

West Virginia game along with Rutgers is plenty of road games against Power 5 teams.  Return Home games against ETU Harvard and Manhattan should be fun.  interesting to see how rest of schedule shapes up.

Add West Virginia to the list. Mountaineers released their OOC schedule today and will welcome us to Morgantown on Saturday, December 23rd. Great guarantee game and a little bit of history too, as JN was on John Beilein's staff there before taking the EKU job.

It doesn't look like everyone in the sort of Jamaica but not really Classic plays in Jamaica.  But you do get a minimum of 2 stateside games so we'll likely play one of the TBDers at their TBD Dome.

I assume he meant ugly as it relates to our chances for wins in those games...

Harvard was a good but not great Ivy team last year, and Miami of Ohio was 11-21 last year.  As homes games, I think we should be favored to win both of those games.  We won't be favored against Rutgers, but I don't see it being an ugly, and I wouldn't be shocked if we won there.  We lost to them by 15 last year, but we had cut it to 7 a few times in the second half.  On the other hand, WVU will be a challenge.

Rutgers will not be easy.  They had a very good recruiting year.  Plus they already have a top 100 recruit committed for 2018 although that won't affect this years game..

I think the Manhattan game should always be Thanksgiving weekend whether at home or at Draddy. When I still lived in NY it made for a good gathering.

You are probably in the majority and I brought my personal bias into it.  I'm always traveling at Thanksgiving.

I hear you. I no longer make the game either b/c I am not going to travel to NY on Thanksgiving weekend. It is probably the only game we play that I think should take place that weekend.
