Keep these late night pick ups coming.  It's good to see that the recruiting pipeline is active in the fall period. It bodes well for the upcoming season, even if we have to wait a year to see the new recruits on the court. Welcome Chris!

Good thing is that none of our bigs graduate this year.  We have no more ships unless JN knows JC or Hicks are leaving.  This sounds like a nice pick up.

Any other team wins the World Series, good for them. They're drinking champagne, they get a ring. But if we win, on our budget, with this team... we'll have changed the game. And that's what I want. I want it to mean something. - Moneyball

13-51 from 3 as a junior.  Work on that jumper.  Although it looks like we will have some shooters anyway next year.  Honor looks really good from deep (as well as an ability to penetrate and use his strength inside), Hicks (if he comes back), Evans, Portley.  Austin looks like he has good form so hopefully he improves.  Havsa and Gazi hopefully improve (despite Ege's 4-4 showing late against GW).

Gonna need some bigs after next year since Bunting, Slanina and Pekarek will all be gone.

Still, great to see us adding guys from all over the country.  Austin is another nice get.  Hicks may have helped because he's likewise from Pasadena (albeit a different high school).  So getting guys from The Bronx (Chuba), Florida, California, Texas.  Even Tavares and Slanina were playing juco in Queens and manhattan.  Oughta calm down the thought Fordham is only getting Turks, Czechs and guys from the Balkans.   Not that there's anything wrong with that. Wink

Getting psyched for this year and it really looks like this staff is building a solid foundation for sustained success.

Hoping this kids is a late bloomer.  We offered him back in July after the Vegas tournaments where he seemed to have a great week.  He was on a list of the top 10 players from HOF basketball writer Frank Burlison's evaluation that week, which included a list of some pretty impressive players (commitments in bold):

Player                 Year       Stars       Offers
Chris Austin           2018      2*           Fordham, Long Beach St, Cal Poly
LaMelo Ball            2019      4.3*        UCLA
Riley Battin            2018      4*           Utah, Colorado, Ohio St, Wash St, Clemson
Jules Bernard         2018      4*           Kansas, USC, UCLA, Oregon, Miami
Michael Feinberg    2018      2*           Yale, Bucknell, Dartmouth, BU
Spencer Freedman 2018      3.5*         Harvard, USC, Portland, Washington
Bryce Hamilton      2018      3*           Arizona St, Colorado, Ohio State, Utah, UNLV
Jaime Jaquez         2019      2*           Stanford, Utah, St Johns, Memphis, Oregon St

Thanks for that link.  So he plays for the LA Rockfish.  Of note, so does Fletcher Tynen, another Fordham 2018 target.  Myles Johnson also played for them, who ended up choosing Rutgers over Fordham and Hawaii.  Tynen also has an offer from Hawaii among others.

Not to forecast...but to forecast, when Myles Johnson is stapled to the ninth seat on the Rutgers bench, playing with former teammates at Fordham may be a good selection.
