I was told that there is a scrimmage on 10/29. But the name I heard was FIU and that does not seem to make sense. Maybe my source was wrong? Does anyone have information?

Maybe it is FDU?  Undecided

FIU.

Is this a closed scrimmage? They normally are, but this year a lot of schools are playing charity games for the hurricanes.

A trip to NYC and I believe they have another scrimmage.

Dinner on Arthur Avenue.

FIU has a pretty good coach, Anthony Evans.  They had a rough year last year, his 5th, 7-24.  But it took him 5 years to get Norfolk State into the NCAAs, and a win over number 2 seed Missouri, with Kyle O'Quinn.

Evans was born in Brooklyn.  He recruits up here.  O'Quinn is from Queens.  Tony Murphy was a a guy he recruited as an assistant at Norfolk St., a 4 year starter from Paterson, NJ, and Corey Lyons was another 1,000 point scorer from The Bronx.

None of his current players list their hometown as NYC, so a nice trip for them.

Evans used to coach Delhi Tech (which I take to be SUNY-Delhi) and before that Ulster Community College.  And he played point for St. Thomas Aquinas in Sparkill.  So he has pretty deep ties up here. Not a bad D II program (Aquinas that is).  They made their Elite 8 last year.

It is too bad our civil servants in Washington DC can't keep secrets like the Fordham basketball community.

I donít have details but we won easily.  Generally speaking we shot a lot of threes and Neubauer worked a lot of different lineups. Not much you can take from these things.
