Having beaten A10's #1 ranked UMass on their pitch a little over a week ago, we get to face them again today in Dayton at 4:30 in the league semi finals.

We still might get an NCAA bid.

Looks like it will be a bit of a longshot. I think we needed to get to the final to have a legitimate shot, and even then it might have been a stretch. Here's hoping I am wrong!

We got an invite and host St. Francis (Brooklyn) on Nov 16 at 7 pm.

First at large bid in program history.

Here are the brackets:  https://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa-d-1-tournament-bracket-183250132.html

We're dancing!

Add this to the list of accomplishments under Roach.

Question - did we need to bid/pay to host this game similar to how it works in the FCS playoffs?

Good question - dont know, but I believe St Francis places at Brooklyn Bridge Park - so it would be hard to schedule a match on short notice considering other events are happening most evenings.
Great accomplishment for the program....they always have a goal of winning the A10 tournament, but being able to play post season without winning the conference shows how far the program has come.
cheers guys.
lets make it to the second round!

Very glad to be wrong!! Jim McElderry keeps on getting it done at Fordham!

I think I'd first add it to the list of accomplishments under McElderry. I find it a stretch to put it on the list of Roach's accomplishments.

Yes, you're right. - The credit should go to the coaching staff and players. My point is that we've seen significant improvement from most of our Varsity sports since Roach has taken over.

UMass and VCU also made the NCAA's.  UMass beat VCU for the A10 title but VCU had a higher RPI of #13 vs #18.

VCU gets a bye and is a #16 seed.  UMass has to play Colgate.

Our RPI was #26.  If we win, we play Virginia who have a RPI of #9, although they are an 11-seed.  St. Francis, whom we play, has an RPI of #68.

URI had the next highest RPI among A10 teams at #39, but didn't get an invite.

Very happy for the team, an at large bid is a real accomplishment now on to the game.

We got a good match up, now let's win

Nice job by the school... free hot chocolate and pizza for current students who attend the game.

Sidenote: A10 keeping up a nice tradition as a good soccer conference with 3 teams in and one with a first round bye.

Let's go Rams. Get to the second round!
