Rich 93 notes in a post tonight that during the Tulane game, we had many possessions with excellent ball movement, but "did not finish". I think to win, you need to have a killer instinct.

Got me to thinking about which Rams had the "killer instinct", the ability to finish, to cut the other side's heart out. Charley Y of course (can we get his d*mn jersey in the rafters?). Bevon Robin. Mark Murphy. Others? Get the discussion rolling.

We don’t have any killers on this team.  Wink

Killer instinct to murder his team’s will - notorious DW meltdowns at halftime of any game “at the end” . “F*** ya’ll girlfriends. You’re all motherf*ckers!!!”

Being serious, very few with that leadership quality to finish the job. Dunston comes to mind. Mike Haynes needed a co-pilot that could do the talking. Maurice Curtis had a killer instinct, but he wasn’t in uniform long enough to really make his mark. Another year of eligibility could have changed a lot. He is the most underrated player to come through RHG.

Any other team wins the World Series, good for them. They're drinking champagne, they get a ring. But if we win, on our budget, with this team... we'll have changed the game. And that's what I want. I want it to mean something. - Moneyball

We were lucky to get someone as talented as Mo. was only able to play a season and a half because of a broken hand. Four years of someone as good as Mo would be a shot in the arm for this program.

Billy Mainor. Always wanted the shot when the game was on the line - and usually made it.
