Nooooo!  We go up 54-44, but the Nittany Lions go on a 21-6 run. Rams lose 65-60.  Three pointers dried up. Davis couldn't score inside.  Great effort for 36-37 minutes. Super game from Mary Goulding. She's a battler.  Ten offensive rebounds!  Close, but no cigar.

Hard to believe they lost this game. Way too many misses late. Nothing went down.

I just left the men's loss.  Defense was there I thought. It's just that PSU's shots - difficult ones -were falling, while we worked, got a good look, but just couldn't buy a basket. We went cold...obviously at the wrong time. Wasn't a matter of giving it away.

They hit everything late, we hit nothing. Turned the game around that I thought we were going to win.

Coach said we had tired legs at the end; they had more depth; we missed FTs; we had open shots but missed them.

Despite the loss, what jumped out at me was the competitiveness of our Women's BB Team. App. 20-25 years ago, my wife and I drove to State College, PA to see our Lady Rams, which they were known at the time, play the gals from Penn State, who were ranked #2 or #4 in the country. We arrived 10 minutes after Tip-off and our Rams were down 16-4 I believe. Our gals fought valiantly but it was a no contest in a sold-out arena which sat several thousand people. We lost by app. 40 points. The Fordham Women's BB program has come so far since then, particularly under Coach Gaitley. To go to Happy Valley and outplay Penn State for three and a half quarters is a tremendous accomplishment and underscores how far the program has progressed.

Nice going, Ladies! Great job, Coach! Even better days are ahead!

Some might say that the Penn State women's program has come a long way too. That way is backwards though.

Not too shabby this year. They're 8-2. Beat Manhattan by 32, Wake Forest by 10.
