(in response to RC74's request for info) he's 14-6 this year here is part of bio Courtesy: Princeton Athletic Communications
Sydney Johnson ’97, who as a player was named Ivy League Player of the Year and as a coach helped lead a team to the NCAA Final Four(georgetown), is in his third season as the Franklin C. Cappon-Edward G. Green ’40 Head Coach of Men’s Basketball at Princeton in 2009-10. “As a player at Princeton, Sydney Johnson was the embodiment of heart, passion, class and dignity,” says Gary Walters ’67, Princeton’s Director of Athletics, after naming Johnson as head coach on April 20, 2007. “We are delighted that he brings those same qualities back to Princeton as our head men’s basketball coach.” In 2008-09 as a second-year head coach, Johnson made great strides in raising the Princeton program back towards the heights he enjoyed as a player from 1993-97. After the 2007-08 team finished 6-23 overall and 3-11 in the Ivy League for a sixth-place tie, the 2008-09 Tigers won 13 games overall, the most since 2005, and improved five games in the Ivy League, to 8-6, for a second-place finish. Princeton defeated every Ivy League team at least once on its way to its best Ivy record since 2006. The turnaround earned Johnson Ivy League Coach of the Year honors from CollegeInsider.com, and two Tigers were recognized by the Ivy League when rookie Douglas Davis and junior Pawel Buczak were awarded honorable mention in 2009. The only three-time captain in Princeton history, Johnson was the 1997 Ivy League Player of the Year and a 1996 and 1997 first-team All-Ivy League selection. He has most recently been an assistant coach at Georgetown, where he helped lead the Hoyas to the 2007 Final Four. Johnson played professional basketball for seven seasons in both Italy and Spain before joining John Thompson III’s coaching staff at Georgetown in 2004. In his three seasons as an assistant coach at Georgetown, the Hoyas had a 72-30 overall record and advanced to postseason play each season.

Thanks. I love that the Princeton coach's position is actually an endowed chair. Cool.

Uh....he ain't leaving Princeton anytime soon. The culture down there is very, very Princeton-centric. Being an alumnus and being a winner cements his job forever.

The latter. RC 74 asked in another thread for someone to identify Johnson.
