Well. Garbage may be relative...I think they won 18 games. 100M arena. An ESPN talking head creep in Bruce Pearl.

If he's good enough for Rutgers and Auburn basketball, he's probably good enough for Fordham basketball.

He's absolutely good enough for Fordham. You know I would never be up and arms about him being recruited.

He was getting Cal looks right off the back if I am not mistaken.  He's prob. too good for us if anything.

In other news, crickets on the recruiting front....

I predict we sign one Guy from current names on verbal commits and 3 totally new recruits.

Joe, which guy on verbal commits do you think is the most likely?

Devante Jones?
Malik Osborne?
Myles Johnson?

Jones is my gut feeling but of course we could use all three.

Yeah. We would take all three (and any of the others on the list) and then forget the recruiting trips to Turkey and Czech.

Auburn is garbage in bball.

LOL...but of course, they're in the SEC, and they play in a beautiful 9,000-seat arena in a warm climate. Pretty much the same with Mason, except that they're in the A-10. I don't get what you people don't get--for a Division I college basketball player who has a number of schools to choose from, basketball amenities are everything. Academics don't mean a thing--a basketball player can find the same academic programs that Fordham offers at literally hundreds of schools. Do you really think these kids are checking out the CVs of potential professors? Again, LOL! Sorry, we're not that special, and we're certainly not special enough to overcome the big white elephant in the room...

The elephant's small. Our "room" isn't large enough to hold a big white elephant (or, it seems, a big talent).  And at Fordham, it's probably a pig in an elephant costume. But with lipstick. Just saying.

I'm curious, if Auburn Men's Basketball is 'garbage' .... What one word description would you use for Fordham's MBB program?

Bile. Lol. Garbage was way too harsh- they were good .. in '85 with Barkley. Auburn basketball is historically average at best, but Peter Kiss would be good get and start for us.

As per verbalcommits, Henry Caruso will leap from the Tigers to Santa Clara. Good life decision.

"Another player that has started to emerge on the Commodores radar is Providence sophomore wing Ryan Fazekas.
The 6-8, 215-pound Indiana native announced his transfer plans a few weeks ago and many within the Hoosier state speculated Vanderbilt as a possible contender as Drew and lead recruiter Roger Powell Jr. heavily recruited Fazekas' while at Valparaiso.
The Crusaders as well as Fordham and a few others are among the programs interested in Fazekas and it appears as though the skilled shooter will make a trip to Nashville soon to check out the program."

I don't know anything of significance about Fazekas, but when I look at a sophomore transfer nowadays I see a kid that likely plays only 1 season for his new school. Sits out one year, plays one year, graduates on time in 4 years and transfers. He better be a definite help if he is going to sit a year and only play one year.

Nice, Fazekas would be a good get for us, he is a tall shooter. When I saw that he was transferring I thought he would be a nice fit but I figured he'd head home to Indiana. Definitely good to hear he is interested even if he has to sit. If Neubauer can get more of these high major transfers who didn't get a shot for whatever reason, that's the right recipe for us in my mind. Talented guys looking for an opportunity, this should be our main focus, a lot of programs are using this method to bridge the talent gap and it's working. Even if JN gets a bunch of sit out transfers who have 2 or more years of eligibility, im willing to suffer next season in order have a team of talented players who can compete with the top A10 teams.

Fazekas is an interesting prospect. Started out of the gate on a very good Providence team last year but then got Mono and never really got back on track. I think he would be a good fit for our system.

So as a policy would you say we shouldn't take sophomore transfers?  Is it worth the disruption, or are we so desperate that if their even halfway decent then take them.

Another transfer down:

Jon Rothstein‏ @JonRothstein

FDU grad transfer Stephan Jiggets tells me that he has committed to South Florida. Immediately eligible for next season.

If he is looking to play in the NCAA tournament as the article states he probably already found his school. Not getting my hopes up on this one.

So Pecora had 2 recruits leave for recent national champions. Makes you think just how terrible of a game coach Pecora was.

Any thoughts on Ruben Guerrero, the kid from Spain who's transferring out of South Florida? As the saying goes, you can't teach 7-0, 235...
