Among the three forwards we have reportedly offered for 2013, how would you rank them?
My opinion: 1. Hassan Martin 2. Jalen Jenkins 3. Javion Ogunyemi
I would be happy with any or all of the three. Anyone have an opinion?

1. Hassan Martin - most athletic and probably most highly recruited 2. Jalen Jenkins - nice combination of athleticism and skills, needs to get stronger 3. Javion Ogunyemi - biggest and most skilled player of the three - a skill guy

I can't say I know a whole lot about any of them - does anyone know who would be considered the best defender? Can any of them shoot from 12-15 feet? It's unfortunate we're limited with scholarships for next year's class because it seems like we're involved with a lot of good players. Hopefully we can sign one of these guys in the early period so Pecora can dedicate as much time as possible to in-season coaching because it could be a make-or-break year for him and the program.

From what I've seen on tape, Ogunyemi and Jenkins can shoot it and Hassan is improving in that department.

Good to hear that our three commits have already signed. Would love to hear about another big by the Tuesday dinner. I would guess that TP3 will be introduced then too.

I would not be surprised if Mandell Thomas (& Jeff Short) emerge as the two scorers in the backcourt.
Jermaine Myers is a pure point guard - a calming presence that should complement McMillan's aggressiveness. Entirely different style of play.
It's a good, underrated class. + more coming.

I asked someone (non-Fordham) who knows infinitely more than I do about recruiting to grade our current class by A-10 standards.
Myers, Thomas, Leonard: B Add Agbeko or a comparable player: A-
I asked: What would make it an A? Answer: A pure and prolific three point shooter

I don't know how many extra ships we have, but I am counting Short as a member of this class. Perhaphs he could be that prolific three point shooter. Getting Reggie would make this off season very exciting.

Perhaps but he will have to be better than the 7-27 he shot from 3 last year.

I am certain someone will let Reggie know that Oklahoma signed two forwards today.
Alex Kline@TheRecruitScoop Along with landing DJ Bennett earlier, Oklahoma has added a commitment from Gonzaga transfer Ryan Spangler, per @ebosshoops.

I had read that Rhode Island was a late comer to the Reggie Agbeko recruiting scene. Let's hope Reggie also saw that Rhody just signed another forward that would compete for playing time. Mike Aaman, a 6-foot-8 forward from Raritan (N.J.) High, committed to Rhode Island Saturday while on his visit. Aaman, a two-time Asbury Park Player of the Year, had previously committed to Hurley at Wagner.
Aaman joins 6-8 former Rutgers forward Gillie Biruta and 6-9 forward Jordan Hare among Hurley’s new pledges since taking the job. Biruta must sit a year per NCAA transfer rules. http://www.zagsblog.com/2012/04/15/aaman-to-rhody-hurley-revamping-roster/#more-71518

Good find. Marquette, Oklahoma, URI and Auburn have each already signed and/or are recruiting several guys who play Reggie's position. Alex Kline@TheRecruitScoop RT @AUHoopsBlog: Along with JUCO PF Orlando Sanchez, Auburn had JUCO PF Renan Lenz on campus this weekend.

True. He was moving like a deer that just was hit by a car this season. It's a wash as far as i'm concerned.

The board seems pretty confident that we are getting Reggie. Is there something to this or just the power of positive thinking?

I don't think anyone is "confident" until a signed NLOI is recevied. I just think you are seeing excitement with the fact that Fordham is in the mix with a player who has interest from some big-time programs. The last recruit for whom I had such excitement was Bryan Smith. Because Reggie has been playing BB in the US for only 2-3 years, there is a lot of room for improvement and a lot of potential. From what I have read, he is a good kid off the basketball court. IMO, he would fit in well at a school like Fordham. Who knows, however, what goes through a kid's mind in the recruiting process.

Does anyone know if we even looked at Chier Ajou from St. Thomas Moore in Connecticut. He is a 7' 2" relative of Luol Deng and Ajou Deng who supposedly is pretty raw but has some skills. He was committed to New Mexico before reclassifying to 2012 due to academic issues. New Mexico is no longer involved but a group of BCS schools are still involved.
Here is where it gets interesting. Ajou played with Jermaine Myers at Culver in Indiana when they both were Juniors. They made the 3A final before falling to a team led by Cody Zeller in the finals. I think they may have have played AAU thereto as well.
He and Reggie would seem to round out the recruiting class giving us some size and an international feel. Is the staff interested?

Thanks Peter. Quick question, someone had posted here that both leonard and thomas had signed when I asked the question in the thread. Are you saying per NCAA because he is not signed? 260 is fine for a guy that height, let him knock a few people around. Also, did you notice the conditioning differecne in Bristol from last year to this year? Im sure the injury hurt him the first year but he was lean and mean this season....

Per NCAA, Pecora cannot (directly) speak specifically of any incoming player (at this point)...However, he can reference school, location, height, etc. Lastly, highlight of the night was Kevin Moriarty FCRH '75 named head of Rebounder's Club. Pecora joked he's still the best shooter in the gym. Congrats to him.

If that was the highlight of the night then it must have been quite a boring night, no offense to Kevin. Kidding aside, congratulations to Kevin and a big thanks to Pat Burke who Kevin will be replacing.
