BTW, Fatty is listed at 5'10" 165, but he sure does not look 165 to me.   He looks built very similar to Smith and I don't think those 4" can account for a 30 lb. disparity.

He's about 190lbs, at 5'8

Yeah, I figured on the weight.  Everyone gets bumped up an inch or 2, that's a pointless discussion.

Fordham is recruiting 6' PG Trivante Bloodman from Olney Community College in Illinois.  He's Class of 2012 with 3 years of eligibility and played last year at Wadleigh HS in New York.  He's also being recruited by St. John's and is a very strong defender that can score and handle.

We are also still involved with 6' 10" Jermaine Lawrence, who now plays for Pope John High School in New Jersey after transferring from Cardozo HS in New York City.  Lawrence is a high major talent who is also being recruited by Rutgers, St. John's, West Virginia, Xavier and others.

That is why it is remarkable, unless he boots players but didnt he tellus that he doesnt run players off?

If Pec were to land that do-all guard, the roster would magically clear space for a JUCO forward(s), voluntarily or involuntarily.  He's told us several things that haven't rung true.

Lawrence is class of 2013, correct?

He said that if a guy really wanted to stay that he would not force him out. I am not sure if that's been true or not, but I think it has been. That said, one can always make it so a guy does not really want to stay.

I have heard, albeit rumor from some students, that both Gordon and Moquette wanted to stay.

If, and its a big if, Gordon was run-off, its shameful. A 6ft 7 kid who could at least rebound and play some defense is essentially jettisoned for his last year and the schollie given to a 5foot nothing walk-on who never played. That is just flat out wrong, if that is what happened.

And we did what with Moquette's scholarship?  Gave it to Jared Fay?  Is that what happened?  If so, equally shameful.

Pecora claims he does not run players off. I think that is a lot of bologna.

I'm involved with some pizza right now.   Grin  I'm sorry, I hope Fordham gets the kid, but what the heck is "involved with."

Really CG? I think it might mean there is a level of interest that exists prior to an offer being made or not being made. Enjoy that pizza

Gordon is still at school, and according to him, not paying for it, even though he's not on the team.

I understand that CT but:  1 .  We have a dearth of forwards and could have used him. 2. Ryan Hage did not play at all and it was a toss away of a scholarship.  So one way or another $52K was wasted.

Yes, Class of 2013.  We've been recruiting him since shortly after TP arrived..

Buzz, interest on the part of Fordham?  the Kid?  mutual interest?  I'm not trying to be a wise-guy.  Just understand.  He sounds like an outstanding prospect.

I think Pecora did right by Gordon and to be honest Gordon had trouble staying eligible and I don't believe the A10 was the right level of BB for him, Fordham and Gordon was not a good match.  Having seen what he did with his limited playing time I don't think his presence on the active roster would have meant significant playing time this year.
I hope he graduates and has a terrific career

6'6" wing shooter Mislav Brzoja had 26 pts, 11 reb, 9 assists and 5 steals in last week's Indiana state final, and has offers from Fordham, Vanderbilt, Marquette, Illinois, Northwestern, Ohio, Providence and Rhode Island.  He is Class of 2012.

Did anyone hear David Duke say that he really likes the players we have coming in next year? Either he knows something we don't or he is living in a fantasy world.

How many times have you seen our recruits play?  He has seen them play a lot that is why they got them to commit.  It does not mean he is right but I am not sure you have seen these guys play enough that you can be so definitive that they are not good players.  We all agree that they are not coming in highly touted and there are questions but you are making it seem you know for sure that they are not good.

You are correct. My opinion and his opinion. I am basing my opinion on information from someone who could recruit circles around David Duke- ten years ago, today and probably 10 years from now.

Fair enough, would love to know who it is, but I also understand that you cannot post that information.

I will just say that it is a BE assistant- can't say any more.

And I hope that he is totally wrong (and doesn't read this board).

And to clarify, the word was not that these aren't decent players, just not good enough to make a difference in getting us out of the A-10 basement any time soon.

I don't know if anyone's interested in this kind of thing, but Jake Fay was at RHG on an unofficial today.

Could not have come away happy or impressed. Maybe he will want to reconsider given the effort/performance or maybe his confidence got a boost since he probably feels he cant shoot as bad as the rest of the team.

I thought coaches couldnt comment on recruits until they have signed......does a verbal count?   What does he mean he is happy with who is coming in?  We have 2 verbals thats it.  Not signed yet, have to go through Clearinghouse too.....officially we have nobody coming in ......lets wait for the letters and the Clearinghouse....... unless of course he means Jared Fay......

He did not comment by name. David Duke did not mention any recruits by name.

I figured as much. Duke is a decent guy.  I just dont think we can be overly excited by 2 verbals .......its a long way to go, as we know, before players are actually signed, cleared and in uniform......lets get them signed and eligible....
