What is the highest profile signing we have ever had? Parker?
Ever? Ancient times or recent times?

he has offers from . . . Marquette, Oklahoma, Auburn
Not buying it. Did he take an official visit to any of them? What's he waiting for, then? I'm told he's a bit too small and raw for that level. "Decent" was probably too light; I'll go with "good". Between Parrotta and our coeds, we got him locked up.

Back in the day... John Coalman- "Mr. Basketball"- State of Indiana Jim Cunningham- Highly touted back then... don't remember rankings or if they used that term then.. Ed Conlin- Highly rated if I recall...

Nothing replaces success in the revenue sports. Nothing. That's not to take away from the success in the Olympic sports - they do matter. It isn't a replacement for success in the flagship sports. - Debbie Yow, AD - NC State

Agreed. Does the kid have a 'ship at Marquette?

He's got an offer, they've got a 'ship. But they've already recruited 2 bigs for next year, they've got Davonte Gardner coming back and I assume Chris Otule will be back for another year after being redshirted, so this guy would really be battling to see any daylight for the next couple of years.

Agbeko looks like a Ram already in his maroon HS uniform. Have to like the fact that he's already risen to a pretty high level and he's only been playing the game a few years. 14 boards a game is pretty impressive at any level. If we get him is the 2012 class done, or are we still in the mix for more kids with the rumors of more transfers?

I was as critical as anyone of TP's recruiting, or lack there of, in the fall. But he is turning it around in the late signing period. Thomas, Myers (and to a lesser degree Leonard) are very solid recruits. If he adds a highly regarded recruit such as Agbeko, that would be a very good class. No one with an axe to grind is going to persuade me otherwise. I am looking at this very objectively.
If we have an extra scholarship to give, I am guessing we save one and give two for the class of 2013.

Kenny was actually 2nd team All City because Brooklyn Prep did not play against the top schools. But he should have been 1st team. Guys who were 1st team: Pat Raferty and Frank McLaughlin in the same year Charlie Yelverton

The latter. Wouldn't be surprised to see a transfer before classes start in the Fall.

Do we believe our own eyes or posters who are not objective because they don't like Tom Pecora?

Alex Kline @TheRecruitScoop
RT @NYPost_Brazille: Iowa State has offered 2013 New Heights (NY) SF Hassan Martin. Fordham & St. Joe's have also offered.

The issue as I see it is: How good of a closer is Pecora? In other words, once he has offered someone, can he close the deal regardless of where this kid has offers? Much of the time, kids decide based on their feelings of whether they like the coach and believe in him. That is just huge.

I didn't know you guys had seen him in person regularly. I have not. I like this kid for us, particularly for his length and ability to defend several positions. But what I get from the posted videos (like many others of big kids) is a kid who thrived off his clear size and athletic advantage on his competition.

The kid was a finalist for NY State Player of the Year. I take more from that than a few snippets of him being guarded by some fat white kids, no offense, but some 6ft 3 260 pound player will not be guarding him in A-10. Quite frankly, he travels every time ( foot shuffle ) but size, shooting touch and being a finalist above are all good signs.

I know that the competition isn't great, but I like everything I saw in the video. He is physical, has a touch around the basket, handles ok for a guy his size, and can find the open man. Really hoping we can land this kid.

I remember Pat Referty.. He played as an unsized 6ft. 3 inch forward and really had a nose for the ball under the boards... I seem to remember one year he scored in double figures and most of his points were of the hard nosed "garbage" type put backs. Wish Fordham still recruited that type of player who always gave 100% plus!
