This is how a recruiting post goes. A player is mentioned. He is mentioned with another school. Someone here immediately posts about the other school's arena. The arena and location are debated.

Any news on the possible Euro bigs? Seems like that rumor might be flaming out.

Not sure, but going into a season with 10 players is risky to say the least.  Hopefully we find a couple ballers

Keep an eye on 6' 3 shooting guard Elijah Buchanan, who played at Mt. Saint Michael in the Bronx this past season. He will prep at Woodstock Academy in Connecticut and is Class of 2018. UMass is also interested.

And with three of the ten players coming off fairly serious injuries/surgeries.

Some interesting 2018 recruiting news.  We offered 4 star guard Keyshawn Embery out of Midwest City HS (Oklahoma).  The 6'3 guard ranks 108 nationally by rivals / 94 nationally by 247sports and was All-State as a junior when he averaged 27pg for his team.

So what I find interesting is just yesterday he posted his final five schools where Nebraska, Houston, Tulsa, Creighton, and Purdue.  Less then 24 hours later he posts he received an offer from Fordham.  Seems strange to announce an offer after you already announce a final five.  Now for the kicker, Tre Evans responded to the tweet, which Keyshawn retweeted himself on his page.  Coaches often say the best recruiters are the players on the team.  Could we have a Oklahoma pipeline to Rose Hill?

Keep in mind the Evans family seems very prominent in the Oklahoma basketball scene.  Tre's dad Terry was a great player at University of Oklahoma and currently coached Tre's old team Edmond North HS to a state championship.  Before that he had a successful run at D2 Central Oklahoma and won a state championship at Midwest City HS (Keyshawn's school).

The interesting thing about Brown is he is rated at 2 stars. He is a developmental player who needs to get stronger but has very good skills and athletic ability. I think he's underrated and it's an example of how the star rating system can be misleading.

Guard Jon Brown has committed to Georgia Tech as a walk-on

Fordham coach Michael DePaoli has offered 2018 Orlando recruit Nick Honor.  5'10 PG rated 4 stars on ESPN with offers from UMass, Dayton, BU, South Alabama, Towson, Toledo, American, North Florida, Georgia Southern, JMU and UCF.

Four stars and no offers from Power 5 schools?  Something is missing here.

Perhaps it's the 5'10". You don't see many 5'10" guys at power 5 schools. He is probably less than that given how heights get inflated. They also have time to offer him if they get more desperate.

That's what I thought.  I can't figure out how he gets 4 stars, though.  That is a very high rating.

ESPN is the only one giving him 4 stars.  He's their 37th ranked point guard.  They give him a scout grade of 80, which appears to be their cutoff for 4 stars.  247 Sports gives him a composite rank of 248th nationally (46th ranked point guard) and 3 stars.

Here's a note on Nick from Phenom Hoop report from May of 2016 at the Indianapolis EYBL (so this is old):

"Nick Honor 2018 5'10" PG for E1T1 United (FL) - I got to see E1T1 twice this session and Honor was someone who caught my eye. From squaring up at the arc to using his strong build to penetrate and dish the Orlando native certainly piqued some coaches interest. In game 1 he hit 5-9 from three with 4asts and while he cooled off Sunday morning, just 2-9 from arc, he still played hard even as his squad was being beaten by 20."

Not much to go on, but yes, doesn't seem like a P5 guy.

Will be interesting to see if this is ever announced as official.  If they are so certain, I'm wondering why we offered a ship to that guy who ended up at Seattle.  That confused me a bit

I never quite understood the deadline as it now stands. If a kid can commit post deadline, and its just a matter of semantics on signing or not, the spring signing period seems pretty much moot.

I again heard about 2 big Euros but at this point, they could just commit in August, no real timing issue, just torturing the Ram fans a little!

As if we haven't been tortured to the max. Over the past decades.
