As I read Rambacker's post, it was A-10 schedule only; didn't purport to post OCC.

Here's a 2010-2011 schedule , based on what we know, to work from: Date Opponent / Event Location Time 11/?/10 vs. Exhibition Rose Hill Gym 11/?/10 vs. OOC 11/?/10 vs. OOC 11/?/10 vs. OOC 11/?/10 vs. Hartford Rose Hill Gym 11/?/10 vs. Manhattan Rose Hill Gym 12/?/10 vs. OOC 12/?/10 at Stony Brook 12/?/10 vs. St. John's Rose Hill Gym 12/?/10 vs. OOC 12/?/10 vs. OOC 12/?/10 vs. OOC 01/?/11 vs. Hampton University Rose Hill Gym 01/?/11 at Temple 01/?/11 vs. Rhode Island Rose Hill Gym 01/?/11 at LaSalle 01/?/11 vs. St. Bonaventure Rose Hill Gym 01/?/11 at George Washington 01/?/11 at Charlotte 01/?/11 vs. Duquesne Rose Hill Gym 01/?/11 vs. Temple Rose Hill Gym 02/?/11 at Rhode Island 02/?/11 vs. UMass Rose Hill Gym 02/?/11 vs. St. Joseph's Rose Hill Gym 02/?/11 at St. Bonaventure 02/?/11 at Xavier 02/?/11 vs St. Louis Rose Hill Gym 03/?/11 vs. Richmond Rose Hill Gym 03/?/11 at Dayton My order of A-10 games is purely speculative but all home, away and home-and home league games are included. Our home A-10 opponents make for a pretty attractive league schedule in the Rose Hill Gym.

A couple of hypothetically winnable games next season, which is nice. Playing Temple and URI twice will be rough; Dayton and Xavier on the road won't be a picnic either. I'm not sure if it's pessimism or realism, but I'll say three conference wins—two at home (Bonnies and UMass), one on the road (GW). Shame, as I really wanted Charlotte to play here again; it's hard to get my blood boiling when I'm not at the game proper, and I can't see myself flying to Charlotte for the game. Then again... hmm...

The James Madison game will feature a blue-chip matchup of forwards...
Gaston will square off against Denzel Bowles, a 6'10 forward who led the CAA in both scoring & rebounding (21/9.2) after transferring from Texas A&M.

Peter, I just modified the schedule by removing the Fairfield and James Madison games after realizing that we have completed our home-and-home series with both. Looks like that match-up between Chris Gaston and Denzel Bowles will not materialize, although I would have loved to have seen it.

Well, from what Coach Pecora stated clearly the espnzone event, I understand we're at Ga Tech Dec. 26 or so and then out to San Fran. for Cable Car Classic; those dates should be easy enough to check I would think.

'Cable Car Classic' is a bad memory for me, but a significant point in understanding how & when things went south... To rewind, it was December 2000 - we had just defeated St. Johns at MSG behind the Bevon Robin GW dribble-drive off the glass. Despite a game-losing put-back at RHG v. Holy Cross, we travelled to Albany to take on Siena at Pepsi Arena. Entering that game, we were 6-2; having won on the Garden floor against South Florida & St. Johns on consecutive Sundays. The buzz suggested Top 25 votes could be on the horizon with a good showing against Siena & Stanford (Cable Car Classic) ... Robin injured his foot just five minutes into the Siena game, it was the beginning of the end. Siena put up 107 points and the Hill-led team quit in the 2nd half. You can argue that not only did we never recover from that game, but it set the tone for the decade. A Stanford team led by future NBA's players Casey Jacobsen & Jarron Collins held us to 17% from the field (six field-goals) & going into the 2001 A10 season, the Hill/Robin relationship would be strained for the duration of their time.

It's realism, T&H. The upcoming season is gonna be a rough one. Don't know if we will best UMass, but we do have a shot at a win over The Dukes. I would be interested in taking a look at our OOC schedule just to see how Coach Pecora thinks our guys stack up in 2010 - 2011. What evah happens, ... we will be a better program than we were.

Sports blogs often confuse stupidity with edginess. Just because I can call someone a name, doesn’t mean I’m insightful, or tough and edgy. It just means I’m a jerk. It’s a high tech place for what idiots used to do on bar stools, in school yards, and on gas station bathroom walls. - Bob Costas

I figured UMass and Duquesne were both somewhat winnable at home, so I flipped a coin and picked us beating the Minutemen. The OOC schedule so far looks to be a decently mixed bag, and I like that it's not all cream puffs or Murderer's Row; a few easier matchups can teach the kids how to win a game, while a handful of big time opponents will get them battle-tested for conference play.

I hope you're kidding....the schedule I posted here is based on the A-10 league office's announcement of league home-and-home opponents and Tom Pecora's statements on our 2010-2011 schedule. The only thing that's missing are a few other OOC games and dates for our A-10 games. Get your facts straight.

No sir. There are no facts to get because NOTHING is set. Not from the A10. If they dont have firm dates then its just a starting point. A lot can and will likely change.
Its ALL speculation.
So please dont post this as Gospel, "hey...I have an inside edge on the rams 2010-11 season" when you don't.
You are out on a limb, rambacker..... This sort of thing irritates me.

No one is forcing you to read it. Other posters are interested in the upcoming schedule. It is very obvious that it isn't the official schedule. We do this every year until the schedule if finalized and published by the AD Dept (which is normally later than most if not all the other A10 schools).

Your post speaks for itself, B2. You are uninformed and got caught being so. The A-10 teams in the schedule I posted here are all accurate. This post is meant to build on as we all learn our OOC schedule, etc. This is an annual event when the A-10 releases our league opponents. Apparently you haven't been following. Please stick to posts that boast about your military background. Your other yammering is tiresome.

Rambacker:
you are a loathesome troll who has been called out numerous times on this board. You work at a school other than Fordham and pretend to have inside news on Fordham athletics.
I have never ever bragged about my military record here or anywhere, though my record stands for itself. Your comment to the contrary further indicates your poor character.
I wasnt called out about anything. In fact, I called YOU out.
People can PROJECT the Fordham schedule all they want. The title to this thread that you started is a lie. its not the schedule. Its a projection.
People are sick of you rambacker. I am one of them.

B2 Bomber, your posts are generally uninformed and tedious. Your posts speak for themselves. When someone brags about their military backgound it makes us all wonder. The numerous PM's about you show that many others agree. Give it a rest. You're losing it.

B2B- Why all the vitriol? It's the off-season, so there is naturally not much to discuss, so a thread dedicated to piecing together our schedule is actually quite useful. I'll give you the fact that the dates of the games aren't set in stone yet, so the title of the thread may technically be misleading. But the opponents and home/away breakdowns themselves are accurate, so what's the big deal? And as someone who in another thread stated unequivocally that Xavier has a football program, you probably shouldn't be nitpicking other people's attention to detail and trying to call out any minor factual mistakes.

T1L - I actually didn't find the topic misleading, having been through this before, as you have. I'm sure someone will start The Official 2010-2011 Men's Basketball Schedule topic or something like that when the schedule finally comes out. Maybe it will be out earlier under Pecora's tenure. But last minute changes can also cause a delay. I grateful when someone takes the time to put this together. It takes some work to do it and is always a work in progress.

Agreed, the schedule RB has provided gives us a blueprint sketch of what we can anticipate for the Fall. The OOC opponents combined with the in-conference H/A list allows us to project road trips & gauge what 2010-11 will look like. No reason to get riled up.

Endorsing the above, as well as wondering how our head coach's public statements and an A10 press release are somehow speculation. Might the ordering of the schedule (apart from OOC being before A10 play) be specious? Yeah. Does that really mean anything compared to the snapshot of who we're playing? Not at all. It seems like a lot of venom for no reason.
