Agreed... but at the very least our administraton would build new fooball offices? I've heard its a complete disgrace and their calls for updates have fallen on deaf ears.

I've heard that there is good financial/fundraising news on the way .... but it might be too late (like Q1 2016)

It's being reported that Fordham is interested in former Syracuse quarterback A.J. Long, who has received his release and is transferring.

He played as a true freshman last season due to injuries at the quarterback position, and completed 89 of 165 passes for 935 yards including a 300+ yard game vs. NC State.

Other schools interested are Temple, Maryland and Colgate.

At a relatively small 6' and 180lbs with a series of concussions (3)  I think he'll have trouble staying healthy enough to have impact

It would be great to see Moorehead use his contacts from his hometown area code to land some 412 recruits.  A lot of good football players in the Pittsburgh area (6 of the 23 modern-era Pro Football HOF QBs).  Narduzzi is going to start keeping them here unless someone else with connections in the area can steal some away.

Would make sense in my opinion. Backs up Anderson for a year and would think he'd have two years of eligibility left after that due to the injuries.

Fairly certain that Anderson has 2 years of eligibility left after this season but I could be wrong.

Thanks for clarifying Jimbo. In that case, don't see Long as a fit.

Also have to keep in mind that the current backup, Luke Medlock, is a transfer from FBS FIU, so we would have 3 FBS transfer QB's.

As for Anderson, he was redshirted as a freshman at Marshall, was back up at FU last season and is playing this season.  With the odd PL redshirt rules, I would not assume that they will grant his freshman year redshirt.

Correct. Don't rule out this happening.

Why is the class so small btw?  Thought it might be small but not 8 small.  Anyone hear about any potential commits?

5 commits for 2016 that I'm aware of
Nolan Givan      WR TE   Michigan
Arjay Jean        DE        Florida
Jordan McGriff   OG        NJ
Jeff Ginn Jr     WR LB     Ohio
DAngelo Palladino  RB DB  Ohio

Coach M -  on recent Mike Watts interview said  for class of 2016 we had 7 verbals and 1 scholly to offer.  He specifically mentioned TE  Odom when referring to next season (so that's a strong sign he's coming back). Assuming the above are 5 of them -- we're missing 2 verbals (haven't been posted on this site). Idk who the referenced 412 (Pittsburgh area) commit is.  I try to use twitter and recruiting websites  247sports.com - rivals.com, scout.com to help figure it out, but I'm not what you would call tech savvy. lol.      Perhaps,  the low # of scholly's is a few student athletes came in last year - and Coach M said pay your own way year 1 and we'll give you a scholly years 2-4.  Another possibility is a few upper classmen were walk ons and Coach M deciding to award a kid   (WR Cantelli comes to mind)  a scholarship because of his value to the team (he earned it).

Committed last month.  Last defensive lineman spot taken up by him.

holy crap!  Kid plays nasty on both sides of the ball.  Love it.  Doesn't look 6'4 260 to me but if he is, his athleticism is off the charts.  Either way looks like a GREAT get for us.

A 4 year starter.  Senior Mike Ware earned first-team all-conference honors and was named the Allegheny Conference Co-MVP at Defensive Line.

also great news if LB Barletta and TE Odom both return for a 5th year.

Not for nothin' guys, and certainly not taking any thing away or any kind of shot at Mr. Ware ,but after watching his video it looks like he plays in a pretty weak league.
Just sayin'. I'm sure he'll be great but the video tells me nothing.
JJ Watt? Not yet!

By channeling I meant style not talent. As for his league, I have no idea, except that western Pa. has a pretty long rep for producing good football players and I believe Coach M knows a good player and his tweet indicated much excitement over this commitment.
