Thanks 81 should be fun.  I really love watching the girls play.  Their intensity and defense really sets them apart.

Coach Gaitley has signed another to the class of 2019, while adding 2 transfers. Official press release below:

Women's Basketball Announces Three More Newcomers for 2015-16
Rams Welcome Kate Kreslina, Nicole Floyd and Tiffany Suarez

BRONX, N.Y. -- The Fordham women's basketball team welcomes three additional members to its team in 2015-16, it was announced Tuesday by Head Coach Stephanie Gaitley. Kate Kreslina becomes the fourth member of the 2015 recruiting class, while transfers Nicole Floyd and Tiffany Suarez will be eligible to play in 2016-17.

Kreslina joins a class that already includes Alexia Douglas (Bay Shore, N.Y./Brentwood), Lauren Holden (Cape May, N.J./Lower Cape May Regional), and Alex Parlato (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh). The trio signed their national letter of intents during the November early signing period.

"We are excited about the future of Fordham Women's Basketball after signing three outstanding student-athletes in the late signing period," Gaitley said.

Kreslina is a 6-0 guard from Riga, Latvia and is a teammate of current Ram Asnate Fomina on Latvia's U18 and U20 National Team. She is also the youngest member of the Latvian Senior National Team, which features an average age of nearly 26 and current WNBA player Elina Babkina. In June 2014, Kreslina started all six games, averaging 5.7 points and 1.8 rebounds per game while averaging 21.0 minutes per game. For the U20 Latvian Team National Team in 2014, Kreslina helped her country to a fifth-place finish, as she led the team with 13.2 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. Kreslina has represented Latvia since 2011 in the U16, U18 and U20 championships. Kreslina also played in the Latvia Estonia Basketball League this past season and led her squad TTT Riga to gold medal after averaging 11.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.

"We are excited to add Kate to our class of 2015. She is a versatile scoring guard who can play many positions. She is a solid scorer and does a great job of making her teammates better. She brings us similar qualities of Erin Rooney. We look forward to a bright future from all of them!"

Floyd completed her freshman year at Wake Forest in 2014-15. The 6-2 forward from Manassas, Va. played in 29 games for the Demon Deacons, with 11 starts. She averaged 6.1 points and 3.4 rebounds per game while shooting 45.1 percent from the field, including 34.9 percent from three-point range. Prior to her time at Wake Forest, Floyd was a four-year letterwinner at Stonewall Jackson High School, where she helped her team to a Virginia 6A state runner-up finish (19 points, 12 rebounds) during her senior season in 2014. She was also named First Team All-State VHSCAA AAA, First Team DC All-Met by the Washington Post and First Team All-Northwest Region. In addition, Floyd was the Cedar Run and Northwest Regional Player of the Year and the 6A North Regional Championship MVP after leading Stonewall to the tournament title.

"Nicole was someone we recruited a few years ago," Gaitley said. "She was a (Stonewall Jackson) teammate of current Ram Danielle Burns, and they both played AAU basketball for former men's basketball player Jason Harris. Nicole brings a strong and physical presence that will create difficult matchups. She has a great touch and will help us at the forward position immediately. She was a top-100 player coming out of high school and will have three years of eligibility after sitting out next season due to NCAA transfer rules."

Suarez has played the last two years at Virginia, where she played in 50 career games, with five starts all coming as a freshman. Over her two seasons in Charlottesville, Va., Suarez averaged 2.3 points and 1.0 rebound per game while averaging nearly 11 minutes per outing. The 5-11 guard hails from Miami, Fla. and attended high school at Our Lady of Lourdes. She was the Dade County Girls' Basketball 8A Player of the Year, a three-time All-State selection, and a two-time member of the All-Dade County Team.

"Tiffany Suarez will be a great addition to our backcourt," Gaitley said. "She is a tall guard that is an outstanding athlete. Tiff is a strong floor general who can really attack the basket. Her aggressive style is a great addition both offensively and defensively. Tiff was a top-60 player out of high school and will have two years of eligibility after sitting out as a transfer as well."

"Tiff, Kate and Nicole all bring something different but exciting to our program," Gaitley said. "They were all heavily-recruited student-athletes who will help us take the Fordham women's basketball program to another level. There are exciting times ahead for Fordham fans!"

In case you didn't hear why she didn't come to school, her Father was laid off and she turned pro. Would have been a very nice player.
