I heard on espn, John Clayton I think, that he felt the QB job in Arizona was wide open and kolb and Skelton would shoot it out in training camp. If Manning comes in, Skelton goes to the bench. Two years in the league now, it's going to be showtime soon. He needs to play. Peyton can't teach him anything if he's sitting on the bench.
I disagree. Why wouldn't John learn a ton from one of the greatest Quarterbacks the NFL has ever seen. It's all about what John puts into the experience - does he watch film with Peyton, does he ask questions, does he study how Peyton approaches a game plan and how he executes, does he learn from Peyton's leadership skills on the field. I do not think there is some extreme rush to get John on the field. He's proven to the league that he has the arm strength and the ability to win games. Now he can have the opportunity to learn from one of the greatest of all time.
