Zach Braziller tweets from yesterday when asked about Jalen Jenkins and Fordham. Zach Braziller @NYPost_Brazille @tpaln Yeah, nice A 10 prospect. Like his game. Could go prep though. He's a young senior.

Might be da best way to go. Give him an extra year to physically mature.

I think Canty can take a good chunk of the load too.
Don't know abut that, it all depends on whether or not Canty can learn to play smart, otherwise da kid will pile up personals early on in a game and be ridin' da pine sooner than you kin say Jacob Greene.

He needs to sign with Fordham. If he does, he will be Chris Gaston's replacement.

Not being too harsh but I think its more learning how to play in general. In watching him play this year he seemed to be out of position on both ends. He really needs to develop big time this summer in order to be of any help. I will give him the fact that he showed alot of energy but it needs to be harnessed. Kind of reminded me of my old CYO days. Canty reminds me of the guy that hardly got off the bench. When he did he would run up and down the court aimlessly showing a lot of energy and being excited about getting into a game. But those guys really aren't doing anything except committing fouls and getting caught in the wrong place.

I keep reading about this guard and that guard but we have a slew of guards. Where is the Big that will replace Bristol? Gaston is a terrific player and maybe like the kid from Bonnies this year. I hope he does become that monster next year. Maybe play at the next level. But I am very concerned that we have not heard anything about a 6'10" or more kid that completes us as a team. What do you guys think?
I just hope whoever HE is is not 6'10 and like barely 200 lbs...thanks but no thanks...

The reports are that he can make a 15 foot shot. .
Can he make a fourteen foot foul shot ?

I'm hearing that Leonard is going to be a better player than some may anticipate. He and Canty will definitely provide bulk, fouls and some rebounding. Dominique is an enigma definitely regressed a bit, certainly in terms of playing time. FWIW, I heard 2 glowing reports from my coaching friend about Mandell Thomas. My buddy is usually spot on with this stuff and was right on the $ about Fatty. He cautioned me that he was solely a man up defender and a tough rebounding guard. He was right.
The spot we sorely need is the athletic small forward, aka Jalen Jenkins. A player who can work the baseline and finish around the basket.

You mention the playing time for Dominique and the need for an athletic small forward. Where do you envision them getting playing time? Gaston takes the bulk of the minutes at the lone forward spot. Or do you think Jenkins could fill the role of the 3rd guard in Pecora's system. I see Jenkins more as the replacement for Gaston, but don't see small forward as an immediate need for next season other than to get the player acclimated to college.
As for Dominique, whose minutes was he supposed to be taking this season?

Good question......I think if he plays well enough and/or someone of his ilk does, TP has to adapt his system a bit to compete in our league.........you just can't have guys like Samuel or Smith being forced to gaurd 6ft 7 forwards on the baseline, they will contunue to be wildly over-matched and eaten alive.........we also need some inside out game on the offensive end.....

If he goes to prep school and improves that much, he may forget about Fordham. If the kid is a player, get him now.

Domonique should have taken Estwick's minutes in the games that we got killed on the boards(Charlotte). But I know TP has a three guard commitment. This is why I think Fay will help. We are going to need 6-6 guys who can play the 3 on defense and play the wing on offense.

What a pile of crap. You seem to always hear after the fact "from your Russians" that a player is this or that. Leonard and Canty will "provide bulk, fouls and some rebounding"? Are you in a remedial reading program? Canty is 6' 10", 230 lbs. and Leonard is 6' 7", 265 lbs. Your comments are just as pathetic as you are....if those two players don't "provide" that, then they have stopped breathing. And now you're hearing "glowing reports" from "your buddy" about Mandell Thomas? And now you think we need to sign Jalen Jenkins? It's time to give up the old man's hockey games, you've taken too many hits. You're climbing on board our earlier comments here about recruiting, and the brain damage is showing.

UConn's Alex Oriakhi is transferring for his senior season and because UConn is not eligible for the tournament next year, he would not have to sit out a year. The papers are reporting that he will likely not be permitted to transfer within the Big East and that Hofstra is an option. Pecora should be on the phone now. That kid would be a beast in the A-10.

Michigan also lost a lot of their players. Probably due to the monster recruiting class they're brining in.
Also, I heard Gilvidas Biruta is transferring from Rutgers and the possible destination for him is to URI. Could be huge trouble. He was Rutgers' offense last year.

If he is leaving because UConn is not eligible for the tournament chances are he will go somewhere which is a "sure" lock to get in next year. Even if we added him I am not sure you can classify us as a sure lock.

Why in the world would he consider FU? He wants to play in a post season tournament next year, as in NCAA, not just some tournament FU may qualify for because the conference changes the rules to let all teams in. Death taxes and NO NCAA or NIT are all guarantees for 2013!

Well, Hofstra lost 21 or 22 games last year and loses its leading scorer. So unless Oriakhi has a big red "S" on his chest, his main concern, if he's considering them, probably isn't to be with a team that's a "lock" for the NCAAs. Since the kid already won an NCAA title, I'd say he doesn't have much to prove at the Dance anymore. Perhaps he's looking for a program where he could be the main focus for a year, showing his skills off to the pros. If that's his concern, we wouldn't be an automatic crossoff.

Backer, who is Leonard that is 6'7" and 265. I didn't see him play this year. Is he hurt? As far as Canty he may be 6'9" and he may be 230 but he can't jump.
