The Bergen Record runs a series each week regarding high school sport stars from the past.  This week they had an article on John Blackgrove.  Fordham and TBC are also mentioned in the article.  Thought it might be of interest to people on the board.

nice to see that Hill has remained a friend and mentor for him.  There's been plenty of criticism of him on here over the years but props for remaining loyal to one of his recruits.

Wow, the injuries impacted him much more than I realized. Unfortunate luck. I wish him the best.

Had not thought of John in years but it does seem that his injuries robbed him of what could have been a terrific career

Hope he enjoys success in whatever he does

I know after John left Fordham, he was plagued by health issues and could never seem to get back into form.  He even had problems playing at a lower level than the A10.

Hill keeps in touch with a lot of former players and helpers of the program.

Blackgrove had a great shot from downtown, and is still involved in something he loves.  How many of us can say that ?

Sports blogs often confuse stupidity with edginess.  Just because I can call someone a name, doesnít mean Iím insightful, or tough and edgy.  It just means Iím a jerk.  Itís a high tech place for what idiots used to do on bar stools, in school yards, and on gas station bathroom walls.

We could use more demonstrative fans like him. CHECK: we need more demonstrative fans.
