Fellow Fordhamfans.com members, I was challenged recently to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.  I was hesitant at first b/c it seemed a bit too viral, but I have decided to make a donation and also have done the challeng in honor of our very own b.mann who lives daily with this horrible disease.   God bless you b.mann.  I can't speak for others, but you are a true inspiration to me and your contributions here are both valuable and appreciated.

Andres, great going on your part! Your bucket appeared to be genuinely more icy and cold than some of the celebrities I have seen. God Bless You, b.mann!

I am not sure how this works but I will certainly make a donation.

ACE, you actually had ice in the ice bucket!  Good man.  Caught clip of ex ranger Brian Boyle tearfully talking about one of the founders of the challenge who was killed over the weekend...

BTW, B Mann is The Man .......

I did mine earlier this week and donated as well.  Which I had known about Bmann and I would have done it in your honor.  But I am praying for you!

Great work, ace.

Good luck, bmann.

Is the prevalence of ALS increasing or is it a result of our increased awareness?

B. Mann is holding on but breathing, balance, nobility, and strength have all taken some serious hits...thanks for your prayers and positive thoughts during this ordeal. On this day of Thanksgiving, I have to say that I've been blessed not only by those on the board but also by a multitude of friends that have reached out from years gone by. Still hoping to make it to a game, but that's becoming less likely, dammit. One day at a time....GO RAMS!

Really appreciate all the kind messages and good wishes. B. mann really needs a Christmas miracle, much like our beloved Rams. Received a rather negative prognosis yesterday, and let's just say, I'm going to really try to enjoy THIS holiday season. Having as many friends here on the board and close to home has proved to be a blessing these past few years.Fordham, by the way, was my last choice of colleges when going through the college selection process. To be truthful, when my high school guidance counselor suggested  it, I did not even know that the school was in NYC or that it was Jesuit. Actually never applied after being waitlisted by four other "top tier" universities and was down to BC as my only acceptance......he got me in to Fordham and Georgetown in May over the phone, and I picked FU solely because of the allure of New York. Still owe them the ten dollar application fee, I believe. Funny how things work out in life....best decision I ever made. The school became my second home for the past 40+ years, and during my teaching career, I directed many of my students to at least consider it as a choice. Many have told me it was the best choice of their lives as well....took many colleagues to visit and to a person, the impression was "Really...this is the Bronx?"  FAR from perfect, heaven knows, but the place has a feel, and for me, it more than worked. Whenever whatever happens to me, know that once a Ram, always a Ram. At some point the hoop team WILL turn the corner....won't be like the 70-71 team more than likely...but a winning team is somewhere close to the horizon. GO RAMS!

bmann. You are in our thoughts and prayers, and are the epitome of what a "Ram" is all about. You have my respect and admiration forever.

Have a blessed Christmas.
